Kente Textile2610/1

Strip of Kente cloth fashioned from three long woven bands sewn together to form a quilt-like pattern of brightly coloured rectangles. Patterns include horizontal and vertical stripes, as well as various geometric designs such as zigzags and diamonds. Textile is woven using different types of thread and weaving techniques. Vertical edges are frayed, and side edges are uneven.

Puppet2607/2

Female tuxw'id puppet with cotton-stuffed white cloth body and carved wooden head, hands and feet. Unsewn strips of red fabric are tied around her neck, wrists and ankles. The face is marked by brightly painted red lips, black pupils and thick painted black eyebrows. Coarse black hair extends in tufts from holes covering the top and back of the head. It has been braided and secured with a hair elastic.

Vest2600/26

Vest, man's, made of black cotton with Columbian and Ecuadorian coins strung in rows across the chest. The coins read, "Republica de Columbia" and, "Republica de Ecuador," and date from 1867 to 1946. A metal cross is attached on the left breast of the vest. The lining and back of the vest are a yellow and brown paisley print. The buttons on the vest are also coins, each pierced with two holes for threading.

Shirt made of coarse orange-brown fabric with a black-brown pattern stamped onto it. The pattern contains X's, five-pointed star shapes, and vertical and horizontal lines. There is a thick black-brown band around the bottom edge of the shirt, and black-brown triangles near the lower port of the neckline. A pouch below the square-cut neckline has a grid design. The sleeves are not sewn along the bottom.

Large contemporary, commemorative cloth with a repeating pattern, consisting of images of the former President of Ghana, Jerry Rawlings, and Bill Clinton, then President of the USA. Each image is contained within ovals, which open to each other where they meet. Text written under each figure designates their name and rank. The rest of the pattern consists of the Ghanaian flag of red, yellow and green, intertwined with each other and set at a diagonal with a black star at the centre. The background consists of gold mottling. The bottom edge of the cloth has a horizontal black line with vertical black lines, which form small peaks. Cloth is thin with a slight stiffness.

Victory Textile2590/3

Large contemporary, commemorative textile with a repeating pattern of blue geometrical shapes, dots, and horizontal bands of heart-shapes. Along the bottom and top there is red text. Two horizontal rows predominate in the middle. Each alternates an image of a man contained within a red circle with a square red, blue, and white emblem with an elephant with a blue outline in it. Text appears in the circles with the images in black; within the squares in white; in the background in red (not in English). Cloth is thin with a slight stiffness.
