The upper portion of the coat is coarsely woven. The lower portion is quilted in a diamond pattern. The inside is black and blue with an abstract brown design.

There are scroll motif cut-outs joined to the main piece by stitches. On the front and back are peony, prunus, chrysanthemum and bat motifs on a green ground. There are two thin panels hanging from the front and back with peony motifs on a green ground. All the edges are trimmed with pink. The inside lining is natural-coloured linen.

Rectangular shaped cotton band consisting of a central pink and white repeating geometric pattern bordered by a stripe of red followed by a thin line of pink and white. The end section is loose creating a threaded fringe. Band is tied together at one end by a piece of white thread.
