Three-dimensional male humanoid puppet: large head (part b) fits into body with shirt and skirt (part a), and a control rod (part c) with a long shaft that passes through the body and fits into the neck of the figure's head. The body has jointed arms, each with a long controlling rod attached. Red face tilted upwards; bulging white eyes with red irises, raised ears, blunt triangular nose, and black hair, moustache and beard. White teeth. Hair net in Javanese style (Hoofddoek); blue with light blue designs, black main section. Slim body clothed in purple close-fitting jacket with white yoke collar that has purple and pink dots and evident stitching. Skirt (kain) of checked cloth (green, blue, purple, yellow, white). Arms with pink and green ornaments at wrists and biceps; hands held flat and bent back at wrist.

Standing wood female figure (ibeji) on oval base. Figure has a long trunk and arms on short stocky legs. Arms are at the sides. Has protruding stomach, breasts, and buttocks. Large head with facial features in relief of large protruding eyes having incised eyelids and eight incised notches on each cheek with three at the forehead. Tall pointed four-sided headdress with knob at top is patterned with incised lines. Recesses filled with indigo dye. Large pierced ears placed far back on the head. Earring of strung horn beads and one jasper. Arm on the right has brass bracelet with spiral incising. Two strings of dark horn beads at waist. Necklace of elongated blue beads with one red jasper bead. Incising at back of head, spine, and stomach. Carved wood piece with dark brown patina and red camwood in areas.

A brown leather jacket (part a) fits over a folded cotton pin-cushion (part b) which opens to reveal a pocket to store needles. A large steel neddle, and strip of wool are inside. The cushion is covered in red-dyed cotton, and bound at the bottom in a leather piece which has two metal eyes, and a leather pull-tab. Braided cord strap.

Head with straight, pointed nose positioned forward; cream-coloured face, white eyes with black pupils, and red lips. Features very delicate, and outlined in black: small black moustache and beard. Wide red crown (mahkota) headdress with green, gold, white, and red diadem, karawista, and Garuda Mungkur. Black hair, curled with gold highlights. Upper torso and neck coloured black. Black chest covering and apron with white wavy trim; also sequins and twisted wire decorations. Apron has waistband and yellow fringe at bottom. Beige, brown, and purple coloured batik skirt (kain). Arms have a pair of red and green ornaments at wrists and biceps. Hands are held flat and bent back at wrists.

Rectangular skirt of plain weave cotton with raw ends. Purple ground with bands of designs in white, black, yellow, orange, green and blue running the width of one half of the piece and with fourteen small blue diamonds widely spaced on the other half. Design motif includes: star-like shapes; band of peacocks?; yaks with loads; horses with loads.

Dog SledNa975 a-e

Sled (a) made from the lower jaw bones of a caribou, with teeth intact. There is a cross-bar lashed onto the back of the sled below the handles. The rawhide traces are tied onto the front of the sled and have worn through so that the team is not connected. Each member of the 'dog' team (c-e) is represented by a uncarved humerus seal bone wearing a rawhide harness with a long strip attached. The whip (b) is made of thin pieces of carved bone with a long rawhide strip lashed with thread.

Neck, upper torso gold: arms with green, white, and red ornaments at bicep and wrist. Hands held flat and bent back at wrist. Purple chest covering and long apron with white wavy trim and sequins and twisted wire decoration. Apron has black waistband, and yellow frills at bottom. Long batik skirt (orange, red, blue, and lavender).

Gold neck and upper torso; gold and red ornaments on each arm at bicep and wrist. Hands held flat and bent back at wrist. Red chest covering and apron with wavy brown trim, green sequins with bead centres. Apron has red waistband, yellow fringe at bottom. Long batik skirt (blue, purple, and beige). 'Sadewa' in blue ink on white lined paper glued to skirt front and headdress (to right).
