Very small beaded purse. Round bag is made of leather, fully beaded front and back with glass beads, brown and translucent, in a pattern of concentric circles. Around bottom edge is a scalloped line of pink beads, with a double line of yellow edging both sides of the bag’s mouth. Interior is undecorated.

Beaded neck band. Strung on a grid of fine cotton thread, band is made up of small white glass beads, with two blue crosses to either side of a central red cross, also beaded.

Leggings3239/5 a-b

Pair of beaded leggings. Backing is red felt, with an edging of tan canvas. A pink boarder containing a stripe of yellow and blue frames the legging, surrounding three vertical stripes of white with a similar blue and yellow stripe, edged with green. Metal snap components sit at each corner. Leggings rectangular, slightly wider at top.

Belt3239/3

Beaded leather belt with silver buckle. On a long, thin piece of pliable brown leather are sewn small, blue glass beads with three similar areas of patterning located across the centre of the belt. Pattern is a pair of triangles in green, silver and red with points facing each other, backed by green and silver vertical lines. A round silver buckle is attached at one end, with three holes bored through the leather at the other. Back is undecorated.

Purse3239/11

Small hide purse. Rectangular bag is envelope shaped, with flap folding over the top opening and coming to a point at front centre. A metal snap closes the purse at flap's point. Hide is light tan in colour, decorated on the front with small glass beads in a variety of patterns including arrow shapes in red, white and yellow, lines along the flap in red and green or blue, flowers in blue and pink, a zig zag line in dark blue, and edging in light blue. A fine handle of pink and blue beads is attached to the top corners of the bag. Back and interior are undecorated.

Pipe Bag3239/1

Beaded and quill work pipe bag. Long bag is made of hide, thin and pliable on top, thicker and stiff with beading below, attached to a series of hide thongs wrapped in red-dyed quills, ending with an undecorated, dense hide fringe at bottom. Top portion of bag has two sets of thongs, as well as small metal tubes from which emerge a red fibre tassel. White-beaded panel contains coloured motifs, yellow and blue diamonds and triangles on one side, green, yellow and red triangles on the other. Quilled section incorporates concentric rectangular designs in purple, orange and green. Interior of bag is unlined and undecorated.

Beaded leather belt. On a long piece of tough dark brown hide are sewn small glass beads creating three similar blocks of pattern located in the centre of the belt, equal distance from each other. Dark blue diamonds and triangles sit in a light blue background, sided by colour blocks of rust coloured beads, with vertical stripes of yellow and white or light blue. The long edges of the belt have think boarders of light blue beading.

Kachina Figure3255/1 a-b

Large kachina doll. Carved from wood, figure is attached by nails through the feet to a square wooden stand (part b). Figure has a long torso, painted rust-red, with arms held close to body and fists at stomach, a wide square head, coloured a light green, with a long protruding nose and painted eyes and mouth. A thin twisted rope is tied around the neck and a red fringe of hair is attached to forehead. An ear protrudes from left side, and a bunch of tall brown and white feathers and down is attached opposite. A light tan skirt with small black linear design sits at waist, above short legs and large feet.

Beadwork3239/16 a-e

Five beaded appliques. Parts ‘a’ to ‘c’ are flowers, possibly tulips, with a stem and two leaves emerging from a cone shaped base. Colours are white with blue and yellow. Part ‘d’ is a similar flower, attached to a long line of white horizontal beading. Part ‘e’ is simply a line of white beading. All appliques are backed by red felt and have been cut off a garment.
