Small square purse. Two pieces of dark green cotton have been sewn together on three sides to create the small bag. A single piece of wool floss is attached at both sides of the mouth to make a handle, and the same is bunched to make small tassels at each corner. Bag is decorated with lines of zigzag stitching in a variety of colours and sizes. At bottom edge and top corners, strings of small white seeds are sewn into the seam and hang as fringe. The same seeds make a cross pattern on the bag, front and back. Interior is unlined.

Moccasins3207/2 a-b

Pair of beaded moccasins. Shoes are made of hide with a wide ankle flap and ties at front. Upper is fully beaded with a blue panel on the toe housing squares of red and metallic beads, and a blue strip around the back of the heel. Around base of shoe is a strip of white beading with triangles in red, yellow and dark blue. Soles are hardened and worn.

Beaded bag. Front panel is fully beaded, showing a design of a red and a black horse facing each other, above a large yellow flower with green and pink leaves on a blue-grey background. Support fabric is black cotton, with a blue patterned cotton lining on the interior. A thin green handle is tied at top corners and centre of bag, along with a single green pompom.

Large owl mask with moveable jaw and eyes. Eye holes are carved out, sides of nose have semi-circular red shapes, and the mouth is painted red. Black design on mask depicts feathers with red details. On reverse are cotton and cedar(?) bark ties controlling the movements of the jaw. A hide tongue is tied to hide strips through the eyes. Three hide strips are nailed to the sides; two other nails protrude at top edge. (Metal wire for hanging on back.)

Dress based on the construction techniques of bilum bags. Made of cotton fibre in a stretchy weave. Garment is long and narrow, with no variation in shape other than a slightly narrower top edge. Bottom has a short fringe. Two straps attached to the top edge; two tassels hang from neck at front. Decorative patterning of shaped vertical lines in blue, white, brown and yellow, at both front and back of dress.

Under dress. Garment made of purple fabric, ankle length, with long wide sleeves, tight 4-button cuffs, and a button closure neck with a high scalloped collar. Pleated seams chest and knee level; sleeves are pleated at shoulder and wrist. Dress flares widely out from chest. White cotton lines the bodice, but the rest is unlined.

Wooden child's toy. Consists of a wood handle with a point at top, attached by a string to a wooden piece shaped like a small barrel with a hole at bottom. The handle is made of unfinished wood, with a thick white cotton string passing between handle and barrel. Barrel is painted with encircling stripes of blue, yellow, green, grey and red, and heavily lacquered to a high shine.

Woman’s full-length, A-line, colourful robe or coat (chapan), with long tapered sleeves; open from neck to hem at centre front, no fasteners; made of red, yellow, green-blue, purple and white warp-ikat textile (silk warp, cotton weft), with glazed surface. Lightly quilted with a light layer of cotton batting. Gathering at the sides just under the sleeves. 12 cm slits at each side at the hem. All edges trimmed with narrow black, blue and white braid made with loop manipulation technique. Lined with red and off-white machine printed cotton textile, representing bunches of flowers; sleeve fronts lined with green, red and off-white machine printed cotton textile, representing leaves and paisleys; all edges are faced on the inside with bias strips of multi-coloured woven striped cotton textile.
