You’re in the results section right now. You can still perform “Quick searches” from the menu bar, but if you’re new to the RRN, click the Search tab above and use the exploratory search.

Plain wooden rattle. The rattle’s head is made of two rounded, oblong pieces of deeply concave wood, hollowed on the inside, attached to each other on both long edges by strands of plant fibre (cedar root?), threaded through holes bored in the wood. The head is undecorated. Inside are noisemakers, possibly seeds. The handle is long, thin, and cylindrical, made of two similarly sized and shaped pieces of wood carved to fit together, hollow on the inside and held together by three metal nails. A small tuft of cotton thread is attached around the bottom nail on both sides. A decorative jog has been created in the connection point between the two pieces of wood on both sides of the handle.
Hide pouch constructed of two rectangular pieces of thin hide, sewn together on three sides with an open top. A short fringe lines the outer edges on the sides and bottom. The front of the pouch is decorated with a line of red fabric along all edges and four blue fabric lines running diagonally from each corner to the centre where they meet a circle of white and yellow glass beads. A short handle of twisted red and tan fabric is attached to the pouch at the top corners. Two small white abalone buttons are sewn to the top back of the purse and correspond to holes in the front for closing. The back and interior are undecorated.
Button blanket. Rectangular, dark blue blanket with two vertical black stripes as background for images of 11 small frogs surrounding two large front facing birds (owls?), wings slightly spread, all cut out of red fabric and sewn to the blanket. The eyes of each animal are white shell buttons; their faces have been drawn in what appears to be graphite. The same red fabric lines the top and edges of the blanket, with two rows of white buttons decorating the upper corners. The top centre edge is covered with tan and red fabric, with two cloth ties attached to each side. The back of the blanket is undecorated.
Bear claw headdress. Thick leather strip, stitched at the ends with 13 long, curved bear claws sewn on with sinew at their proximal ends. Distal ends are blunted and a small hole has been bored through each tip for cotton string to pass through, connecting the claws to each other in a circle. Several claws have come unattached to the string, and several are missing.
Pair of leggings constructed mainly of cotton; dark blue on the outside, with bright cotton and wool fabric decorations cut out and sewed onto the face. Designs are zigzags, colour blocks, rectangles, and ‘s’ shapes in red, yellow, purple, tan and green. A short, thick hide fringe surrounds the decorations and the bottom hem. The interiors are fully lined with tan and brown patterned cotton. Three leather ties are attached to each side of each legging, for attaching to dancer's legs.
Pair of wool leggings. Each legging is constructed mainly of red felt, the bottom portion of black felt with lines of synthetic fabric in a triangular design hand-stitched on top in tan, pink and blue. A strip of similar triangles in blue and tan runs up the side of the leggings on top of the red felt. Tan piping lines the top and bottom edges and seams.
Dance apron with a deer hoof fringe all along the bottom edge. The garment is made of a rectangle of red wool, with a large dip at the bottom centre hem. The front is decorated with thin horizontal lines of fabric sewn to the wool that follow the dip. The top line is black velvet, followed by lines of purple surrounded by blue triangles as well as lines of tan cotton and blue cotton. The back is lined with cotton in tan and checked tan and red. From the apron’s bottom hem hangs a long rawhide fringe with deer hooves attached to each hide strip by thread, tied through a hole bored in the hoof. Many of the hooves have been modified to have a decorative serrated edge. Two small, conical metal bells hang from a fringe on the left side.
Pearly queen costume cravat. Three wide layers of overlapping white, flowery lace are attached to a circular piece of white fabric backing. The cravat is attached around the wearer’s neck by a plain white fabric collar with a velcro closure at back.
