Two-paneled mauve silk damask skirt. Each panel has a vertical of light blue silk finely embroidered with birds, flowers and foliage, and a wide section of tightly pleated vertical tucks. The edges of the panels have a black applique floral motif, attached with adhesive. Blue silk can be seen at the interior edges and hem. The panels are attached to each other at the cotton waistband with fabric button and loop closures on front and back, and they have cotton ties for fastening around the waist.

Long dark maroon two-paneled skirt. Skirt has a blue cotton waistband approximately 19 inches wide, attached to which are two fine silk panels that make up the body of the skirt. Panels have a small scalloped applique sewn around their edges. Each panel has a centre portion that is heavily pleated, with stitched vertical tucks. Two long cotton ties are attached at the top corners of the waistband for fastening.

Two dark brown (almost black) skirt panels made of silk and cotton. The panels are long and attach to each other in the centre with fabric button and loop closures on front and back. Each panel has a section that is heavily pleated with stitched vertical tucks. Four thin scalloped pieces of trim run horizontally down the skirt at intervals, and along the bottom. The cotton waist band holds a long cotton tie on each side to secure the garment around the waist.

Opera costume tunic for woman worker role. Garment top is blue cotton, with long sleeves that taper slightly toward the wrist. The neck is small and rounded. Front closure is cross-body, fastened under the right arm, at neck, and to right side of the neck with fabric rosette buttons that fit into sewn on loops. A pocket with rounded bottom sits on the front of the tunic top hidden by the cross-body panel. The lower/skirt part of the tunic is sewn to the blue upper part with white thread. The lower part is a light tan fabric with a light imprinted design of leaves and seeds over fine horizontal lines. It closes with rosette buttons on the right side. Both sides have a high slide-slit.

Woman's opera costume blouse (worn with 2967/4-5). Light green women's blouse with sequin design. The blouse has large scoop-shaped sleeves, very wide at the cuff, more fitted at the shoulder. The body is straight, of green material on each side, with white cotton panel down centre of front and back. Snap closure at front. Neck is round. The sequin design sits on sleeve top at both front and back and is a blue flower surrounded by silver and gold curls. A blue, silver and gold key pattern edges the cuff.

Woman's opera costume blouse (worn with 2967/4 and 2967/6). Light green shirt, lined fully inside in white fabric, closure up the back with snaps. Neck hole is very small and round. Each cuff has a large removable snap-on decoration (parts b and c) in the shape of flowers and foliage made of gold and silver sequins and transparent tube beads. In blue ink on the inside back of the shirt is a stamp with 3 rows of Chinese characters.

Woman's opera costume pants (worn with 2967/5-6). Pair of light green pants, with a wide white cotton waist band. The pants are meant to be pulled on, with no closure, strings or buttons. Legs are relatively wide and undecorated. Each pant cuff has a large removable snap-on decoration (parts b and c) in the shape of flowers and foliage made of gold and silver sequins and transparent tubular beads.

Woman’s lavender coloured vest (part of costume 2967/1 a-b and 2967/2). Vest is long, covering the hips, with side slits. The left front of the garment crosses over the right, leaving the right shoulder revealed. The vest attaches with metal snaps at the right edge. Gold and yellow sequins create a flowered band around the neck, edging around the armholes and sides of the garment, and a large flower and foliage design on the front and back. The exterior fabric is a thin crepe, while the inside is a shiny synthetic, both in the same shade of lavender. A round stamp with Chinese characters is on the inside centre of the collar.

Woman’s lavender coloured blouse (part of costume 2967/1a-b and 2967/3). Blouse is short, to waist, with a small round neck edged in a satiny fabric. Garment opens down the back with a snap closure. Arms are full length, and heavily decorated with gold and yellow sequins in a flower and foliage pattern, with edging along the cuff. The exterior fabric is a thin crepe, while the inside is a shiny synthetic, both in the same shade of lavender. A round stamp with Chinese characters is on the inside bottom of the blouse.

Woman's opera costume pants and sash (part of costume 2967/2-3). Lavender coloured pants have a light coloured cotton waist, attached to crepe and synthetic trousers. Each pant leg is decorated on the outside bottom with flowers and foliage in gold and yellow sequins. The bottom hem is edged with the same sequins. The lavender coloured crepe sash (part b) wraps around waist of the pants, and is decorated on each end with sequenced foliage and a fringe at the hem. Three round stamps with Chinese characters are on the waist of the pants. An inscription in ink is written on the inner waistband at the edge.
