Larger mountain goat of deer hide and wood; antlers are attached to top of head. The hide covers the mask around lower jaw and top of forehead; ears, eye area, and nose are bare. Holes go through mask at eyes; two holes for stringing are at bottom of sides and have fibre cord strung through them. Nose and outline of eyes are painted black.

Shoes984/12 a-b

Pair of man’s funeral shoes made of fine white leather. The sides are low, but there is an upward extension at the heel, which has a centre seam covered with five vertical cotton strings. Section covering toes is very short; the main body of each shoe is open. There is narrow piping finishing the vertical seam at the front of the toe section, and wider piping around the upper edge of the shoes. The soles are made of layers of natural brown leather slightly thicker at the toe and heel ends, and have numerous iron cleats at the front and heel. The soles are attached to the body of the shoes with a row of stitching around the edge of the soles, and there is a row of heavy, even stitches around the edge of the white leather. The shoes are lined with white leather, and have insoles of woven grey wool fabric.

Bridegroom's Boots2503/2 a-b

Pair of black cotton boots with quilted silk lining. Short opening at back. Leather loops on front threaded through two holes and knotted on inside. Piping on front, back and sides. Lower edges of boots trimmed with leather. Soles sewed on. Part (a) has five studs on sole and two pieces of masking tape with writing, attached to lining. Part (b) has four studs on sole.

Small red dress with beadwork. The dress has a v-neck, short sleeves and flared skirt. There are rectangular beadwork panels on the upper front, back and sleeves. The panels have a triangle motif in yellow and black on white ground. The inside is unlined.

Basketry AwlNd712

One end of the bone has eight nodules carved on the end. From this end, the bone has been carved along the length so that the bone narrows down to a dull point at the opposite end. Lengthwise on one side is a natural groove, 7 cm long, originating from the nodules. Lengthwise on the other side beginning 4.5 cm from the nodules the bone has roughly been broken away, exposing the inner cavity of the bone.

A large wooden headdress carved as a wolf head. The lower jaw is attached with metal nails; there is a strip of hide at the top of the head. Painted black with red eyes and upturned nostrils.

Shoes984/8 a-b

Pair of rigid shoes with thick stiff soles of natural brown leather studded with iron hobnails at the heels and toes, and stitches along the edges. Parallel lines are scored along the length of the soles. Shoes have low sides, but are high at the back of the heels and have upturned toes. There is narrow white leather piping along the edges, and the white leather extended down inside the heel. The sides of the shoes are covered with pink silk, over which are applied pieces of light green silk at the toe and heel. Small fragments of dark pink decorative pieces remain at the toes and heels. There are narrow bands of darker green silk at the top and bottom of the sides, with a row of heavy white stitches along the lower band. The shoes are white inside, and the soles are lines with loose cotton batting.
