Shirt3173/1

Man’s cotton shirt. Shirt has short sleeves, wide at the cuff, a stand-up collar, and button front. A pocket sits at front left, and is heavily embroidered in black, in diamond motifs and colour blocks. The collar just below the neck and lines along the shoulders are similarly decorated. A small orange tag with a stylized letter A is attached to the top edge of the pocket. The buttons are black plastic.

Doll3151/25

Wool and plant fibre doll. A small boat is constructed of unbleached fabric layered over a stiff framework, likely plant fibre or husk. Fine brown netting is wrapped around the ends of the boat and spans the length of one side between them. Three woolen figures sit inside the structure, each with a large head covered at back by a woven hood, red stitching for facial features, and arms constructed of plant fibre wrapped with yarn. Each wears a striped woven sweater and a burlap skirt.

Wool scarf. Garment is of medium length and relatively wide, increasing in width slightly toward one end. Long fringe sits at both ends. Weave is tight and unvarying, with horizontal stripes in shades of brown interspersed with two thick lines of red, pink and black. The stripes continue into the fringe.

Wool scarf. Garment is of medium length and relatively wide. Decoration is split into three panels of roughly the same width, running horizontally: both outer areas are filled with alternating lines of brown and dark tan, while the central panel is red with tan diamonds filled with triangular motifs. A line of green and orange runs through the centre, and edging consists of stripes in green, yellow, purple and pink.

Woven wool hat. Hat is triangular in shape with a pink tassel at peak. Hem is scalloped and raised to a point in front and back, with translucent buttons attached as decoration. Pink tassels hang from lower points of hem along with a braid of wool and two woven ribbons edged with small white glass beads. Hat is heavily patterned, with ‘X’ shapes, colour blocks, and squares in colours of red, orange, pink, grey, purple and green.

Woven wool hat. Hat is cone shaped, bulging slightly outward at base of tip. Hem is scalloped, with small half circle ear flaps sewn to the sides. Horizontal lines of decoration such as diamonds, colour blocks, zigzags, and other motifs encircle the hat around a central line of women and men in green, yellow and purple clothing joining hands.

Woven wool hat. Hat is triangular in the body, with a scalloped hem and small half-circle ear flaps sewn to the sides. A long tube sits at top, with tassels and fringe in several colours at peak. Tube is decorated in horizontal zigzagging motifs in light tan, green, red and other colours, while body shows different motifs, small and circular, in orange, blue, purple, and divided by coloured lines, on a dark brown background.

Woven wool belt. Garment has a wide centre portion of tight, uniform weaving with decoration consisting of three equally spaced areas of horizontal lines in colours of green, pink, purple and orange. At each end of this portion are three thick, braided cords that are joined at their distal ends and hold a long, thin tie that ends in a tassel.

Woven wool belt. Garment is long and relatively wide, with a defined rectangular element at one end, and a series of braided cords contained inside a thick rounded edging of pink and green on the other. Decoration includes a dark brown and orange central line with various motifs in tan, and to each side of this a line of red, green and yellow crosses, tan swirls, short horizontal lines in green and pink, and edging of brown and tan squares.

Stone Sling3151/17

Wool sling. Thickly woven cord is stiff down its length, varying in width: thin at top, thicker at bottom, and at centre becoming wide and flat across a short span to accommodate a projectile object. Cord is patterned in triangular and herringbone designs. Base of thicker end is covered in a fringe of undyed yarn and green and pink tassels, and cord splits into four smaller pieces each holding a tassels of a single colour in green, purple, orange or pink.
