Black damask robe with rounded neck, wide sleeves and centre opening with gold frog closures. There are slits in the sides and back. The damask is woven containing a diamond pattern. On the upper front and back is a large rectangular badge. The badge has a left facing quail, representing the eighth civil rank. Surrounding the bird are wave, cloud and sun motifs as well as the Buddhist emblems of good fortune. Around the badge is a gold border with a bat motif and Chinese character. On the front, the badge is split in two over the centre opening.

Orange cotton jacket that goes with pants and panel (Edz1794 b-c) to form suit. The jacket has a woven pattern. It has a standing collar, slender cuffed sleeves and centre opening with metal snap fasteners. The pattern repeats a small floral motif with radiating lines. The inside is unlined.

Black jacket (part a) with embroidery, slender cuffed sleeves and side opening with frog closures. The collar, side opening, sleeves and hem have borders with prunus and fish motifs and a Chinese character in ecru, gold, yellow and pink on a black ground. The collar is finished with an ecru ribbon. The inside lining is white cotton. Black belt (part b) with metal hook and bar fasteners. On the front is a prunus motif and Chinese character in ecru, gold and yellow. The back is lined with white cotton.

Blue robe with a round neck, tapered sleeves with hoof cuffs and a side opening with brass frog closures. There are slits in the centre front and back. The collar border has a gold peony motif on a red ground, edged with gold braid and pink trim. The cuffs have gold braid outside and black cotton lining inside. The robe lining is natural-coloured linen.

Brown kimono (着物) with small check pattern paired with haori (N2.213 a). The neck and centre opening are edged with a wide patterned band. The sleeves are short with hanging panels and an opening under the arms. The pattern has small white squares on brown ground. The inner lining is dark blue cotton.

Red silk cloth with red cotton border at top, has green, orange, pink and blue embroidered flowers and leaves. Green, blue, pink and yellow fringe hanging from green open weaving.

Bamboo, pine and flowers in bright colours, dark blue ends with geometric designs.

Black apron with white horizontal and vertical stripes. Bottom edge hemmed. Band of patterned fabric at top, with long ties attached on each side.

Purple cloth with birds and floral motif. Five rows of floral and decorative motifs below birds, and one row of white decorative design above. Blue zig-zag embroidered along hemmed edge. Selvedge folded under. Both ends hemmed.

White collar with embroidery and brass frog closure. The collar is rounded at the back and pointed at the ends. On the front are butterfly and peony motifs in pink, purple, blue, green, yellow and gold. There is pink trim around the edges. The back lining is white cotton.
