Blue panel vest. The panels are woven from predominantly blue fabric with white and gray pieces. The vest is made of four woven panels, stitched together at the back, sides and top. An opening is left between the upper panel sides for the arms. The front is left open. The edges are edged with dark blue fabric. The inside upper back is made wider by a dark blue fabric square, decorated with white stitching in a zigzag motif.

The sides are connected by two blue fabric bands on either side. The front is left open. The edges are edged with dark blue fabric. The inside upper back is reinforced with a dark blue fabric square, decorated with white stitching in a diamond motif. The inside is unlined.

Maroon skirt with pleats and embroidery. Across the top is a wide cotton waistband with two loops. On the edges of the skirt are thick black borders with a white and black diamond trim. On the edges of the pleats are black borders. On the front and back are square sections with peach, ‘Buddha’s hand’ citron, fish, bat, vase, peony, and book motifs among others, in pink, red, blue, green and white on maroon ground. Scattered on the lower half of the skirt are flower and butterfly motifs. The inside is lined with green silk.

Coiled tan storage basket (part a) and lid (part b) with simple interlocking coiled work. Sides have bifurcated stitches. Parallel slat base construction with reinforced stitches along sides, an overcast rim, and a foot of three coiled rows. Partial imbrication of isolated figures and vertical bands. The sides have one vertical band in white/black/white with black and red triangles along the sides. At either side of this central vertical band, there are two stars in black around a white rectangle with circumscribed concentric diamonds on the interior. The ends have imbricated triangles. Vertical band and bird designs. Foot is beaded in a white grass. The lid (part b) has a design that continues from the basket in the same manner and has a double-corded handle with a branch wrapped around the middle.

Conical basket with a main design that consists of two horizontal rows of downward pointing, light yellow-brown triangles edged with dark brown on a brown background. The triangles alternate in such a way that the downward points of the larger, upper row of triangles connect to the upper corners of the lower, smaller row of triangles. The inside of the basket reflects the same pattern from the outside but has the appearance of four brown petals with a larger brown petal above in between. The rim alternates between dark brown and light yellow-brown.

Red tunic with side slits and side opening with a single tie. On the front centre is a figure riding a hoofed dragon in pink, blue and green. On the front, back and sleeves is a lotus motif in pink and green on a red ground. The neck and side borders have red flowers on a purple ground. All the edges are edged with a pink and white trim. The inside is lined with white cotton with a pink floral and circle pattern.

Red jacket with rounded neck, side slits and side opening with gold frog closures. On the front, back and sleeves are butterfly, peony, lotus and prunus motifs in yellow, white, blue and green on a red ground. The collar, sleeve and side borders are made up of three bands: a blue, green geometric pattern on white ground; a white floral on green ground; and a solid black band. The inside is lined with green damask containing a woven floral pattern.

Red robe with rounded neck, wide sleeves, side slits and side opening with metal frog closures. On the front, back and sleeves are four-toed dragon, bird, bat, fan and peony motifs in silver, white, purple, blue and green. The collar and border bands have a silver geometric pattern on a purple ground. The inside is lined with light blue silk.

Multicoloured damask skirt with pleats and embroidery. Across the top is a wide cotton waistband with three rows of frog closures. The various damask panels are woven with bat and flower motifs and eight Buddhist objects of good fortune. On the edges of the skirt are black borders. On the front and back are panels with elaborate borders and butterfly, bat and fish motifs surrounding rectangular pictures of Chinese figures in red, gold, yellow, black, purple, green and blue. Small embroidered butterflies with beaded eyes and black bats are attached between the panels. The inside is unlined.

Green damask skirt with pleats and embroidery. Across the top is a wide cotton waistband with two loops. The green damask is woven containing bat motifs and the Taoism’s Eight Immortal symbols. On the edges of the skirt are black borders with gold and black trim. On the front and back are panels with chrysanthemum, vase, peach, ‘Buddha’s hand’ citron and deer motifs in gold and black couching sewn onto the skirt. The inside is unlined.
