Long, rectangular, double-sided silk textile with selvedge edges along the top and bottom; folded and sewn edges along the left and right. The surface design consists of a light, shiny, brown/gold floral, circular dragon and rooster pattern with hints of a dark brown background. The underside consists of a similar design as above but with a shiny orange/gold background and a light brown overlay.

Long black vest with multicoloured tassels. The vest has a rounded neck and centre opening with frog closures. The sides are open, held together by two bands. The front and back have dragon, bird, pearl, fire, peony, wave and mountain motifs on black ground. The border around the edges has a black geometric floral pattern on gold ground. Hanging from the bottom hem and green netting are pink, purple, red, yellow and green tassels. The inside lining is blue silk.

Small turquoise jacket with gold couched designs. The jacket has a standing collar, side slits and side opening with frog closures and metal buttons. The front, back and sleeves have a chrysanthemum and leaf motif on turquoise ground. The borders around the neck, sleeves, sides and hem have a prunus motif on turquoise ground. The inside lining is pink damask silk with a peony and diamond meander motif.

Dragon RobeN1.59

Blue robe with standing collar, slender sleeves, hoof cuffs and a side opening with brass frog closures. The collar has a geometric pattern on a gold ground. The front, back and sleeves have five-toed dragons, pearl, fire, crane and bat motifs as well as Buddhist symbols of good fortune and Taoist symbols of the Eight Immortals on blue ground. The borders around the neck, cuffs and side opening have dragon, peaches and bat motifs on black ground. The sleeves have triple lined stripes in gold, pink, green and blue. There are slits in the centre front and back. The inside lining is blue damask containing woven roundels with a dragon motif.

Bag1060/83

Bag is rectangular with rounded corners, geometric designs and fringe. The front of the bag has a large panel with a square-diamond design in red, yellow and green. There is a short red and black strap with scalloped edges at both ends of the bag. A fringe extends along the edges from strap to strap. The back of the bag has a large panel with squares arranged in three rows in red, yellow and green. At one end the panel stops short of the skin border creating the opening of the bag.

Scroll Textile421/6 a-b

Scroll with green embroidered centre panel (part a) and a separate cardboard roll (part b). The embroidered panel of the scroll (part a) has five types of birds surrounded by foliage, flowers and butterflies on a green silk background. The centre panel is flanked by bands of green-black and orange woven fabric. The bands and panel are backed by a piece of paper and adhered to a thick cardboard roll at one end. There are two white strings tied separately around the roll and a green string attached at each end to a white string. The separated roll (part b) is cardboard, covered with paper and then green-black and orange fabric. The roll has end caps covered with the same fabric.

Pair of red shoes (part a-b) with embroidered pink flowers and green leaves. The flowers contain two shades of pink; the leaves contain two shades of green. There is a large pink flower in the centre with a pink flower on one side and a green-blue flower and pink bud on the other side. There is a white, pink, blue and black border around the opening. The soles of the shoes have a white and pink flower design with green leaves on a dark green background.

White cloth shoes (part a-b) with a long upper portion and embroidered soles. There is a dark blue band around the bottom of the shoe with white stitching and a black patch over the toes and heel. There are four pink dots in a row on the tongue. The bottom of the soles have an outside border of green and pink outlined interlocking triangles. The green triangles are filled in with cross-hatched stitching. In the middle of the sole is a square with four purple leaves in the centre. The green stitching of the square continues over the leaves in an 'X'. The rest of the sole is covered with tiny black stitches.
