Rectangular cotton batik with blue pattern on white ground. Two patterns, one a third of textile. Pattern near one end has wide band of blue diamonds and triangles with flowers in them, bordered on two sides by maple leaf and cock motifs. The other pattern is of leaves and vines and smaller flowers on vines. Entire textile is bordered with vine motif.

Batik sampler. Textile has 24 named floral and geometric designs in three horizontal rows of eight. Most designs are blocked out in diagonal sections, some in squares and a few others in alternating rows of elements, Many are geometric floral decorations. The designs are divided by black borders with a repeated brown and off-white triangle motif at the edges and a black and grown four-pointed flower-like motif in an off-white square.

Woman’s dress made of purple shot silk, trimmed with gold jacquard ribbon, gold braid and panels of red cotton textile, closed at the neck with two white glass buttons. The neckline is finished with a narrow collar band. The wide cuffs are trimmed with gold braid and small, geometric embroidery. The back of the bodice and the upper part of the skirt are made of orange cotton textile. The waistband is constructed of gold jacquard ribbon and red cotton textile. The full skirt is pleated onto the waistband, and the hemline is trimmed with couched gold braid designs and gold jacquard ribbon. Completely backed with pink cotton textile; the lining and outer textiles are stitched together at intervals with a running stitch.

Woman’s dress made of purple shot silk, trimmed with metallic thread embroidery. The bodice front is a panel of heavily embroidered geometric designs worked in couched metallic thread and patches of brightly coloured cotton textile. The dress is collarless, with a centre front slit opening at the neck. High waist. The bodice back is plain. Full sleeves with embroidered cuffs; the two cuffs are similar in design but do not match each other exactly. The bodice is lined with a patchwork of cotton and silk textiles. The skirt is softly pleated onto the waisband. The hem is finished with a wide band of couched metallic thread embroidery and patches of brightly coloured cotton textiles. The back of the skirt is slightly longer than the front.

Man’s vest made of tightly woven, fulled dark brown yak wool, decorated with multicoloured embroidery. The edges of the front opening, armholes and bottom are trimmed in the zigzag pattern made of appliquéd red cotton textile, outlined in yellow stitching. Embroidery patterns on the front and shoulders include scattered floral, tree of life and border motifs, while the back is solidly embroidered with several styles of stitchery and several kinds of motifs, including open work. The back edge of the neckline forms a V which is partially filled with a gusset made of embroidered cotton textile, and trimmed with small tassels. There are two layers of twisted wool fibre fringe (one short – 6.5 cm – and one long – 19 cm) at the bottom of the back of the vest.

A square panel of white cotton below the neck on the front is embroidered with red, blue, green, yellow and black thread to form floral designs. Coloured circles on stems extend from an outer line to form a border around the panel.
