Part (a) Large rectangular coiled basket (bifurcated stitches) with coiled handles and lid, part (b). Parallel base and lid construction, reinforced by cross-stitches along end edges. Fully imbricated with cat-tail grass (?) and horizontal design of three bands, two cherry bark and middle one dark cherry bark, which dip into a large 'v' on all sides. Coiled handles over rawhide on each short side. Flanged lid with coiled handle at center is imbricated along rim in red cherry bark and cat-tail grass (?), and fully beaded in alternating rows of red and dark cherry bark separated by two rows of cat-tail grass (?).

Square mat - very fine weave. Geometric design of intersecting bands formed by groups of dark strands running at regular intervals through both warp and weft. Edge finished by folding back ends to make a short hem and binding them down with an extra stitch.

Imbricated design of vertical bands of squares connected by a line between each. Vertical rows alternate between red cherry bark outlined squares, with cat-tail grass (?) centers, and connecting line, and black cherry bark outlined squares, with cat-tail grass (?) centers, and connecting line. Design extends to foot but smaller square.

Rectangular mat with woven pattern. There are six bands across the weft of the mat. Each band has eight dark strands with one dark natural-coloured strand in the centre. The border around the edges has three dark strands and one dark natural strand. The edges are finished by overcasting on a core of cedar bark.

Tassel OrnamentN3.39

An ornament made of an elaborately knotted pink cord with a round silver box that has a swiveling lid and two tassels attached. Above the box, there is a loop, below which, there is a flat knotted lozenge shape. Below the box, there is a smaller looped pattern. The box is attached with an elaborate winged loop of silver. The box is inlaid with enamel in floral patterns of blue, blue-green, yellow, and purple with a coral bead inset on each side. Two tassels are attached below the second knotted design. They have multicoloured strands, and are wrapped at the top with gold thread that has a pattern picked out of the tassels’ strands on the surface of each wrapped area.

An ornament made of two elaborately knotted pink, green, and gold silk cords with two large tassels attached to each, all of which are suspended from two pink cords. Below the cords, there is an elaborate knotted design in pink, green, and gold, below which, there is a larger lozenge-shaped flat knotted shape. The tassels have strands grouped according to their colours: red, dark pink, yellow-green, yellow, and dark blue-purple which also show at the top of each tassel. Each is wrapped at the top with gold thread that has a pattern picked out of the tassels’ strands on the surface of each wrapped area.

Waist BagN3.35

A small flat bag made of dark blue silk damask and yellow silk embroidered on both sides. At the top, the blue silk is sewn with an invisible seam to the white cotton lining. Main body of the bag is shaped like a vertical rectangle with triangular projections on both sides created by folding and holding the folds in place with a circular pink cylindrical cord. The centre front panel is embroidered with a pink peony, and the side points with yellow and pink peach flowers, each with five petals. The rectangular panel on the back is embroidered at the top with pink flowers on stems. The pink cord ends at the front with elaborate knots, culminating in three loops.
