Ceremonial HeaddressN1.302

A headdress with a high vertical rounded front and flat top sloping downward to the back which is a shorter vertical band. Frame is of wire covered with intricately interlaced bands of black silk braid and fabric. Attached to the headdress with wires, there are convex gold-coloured brass plaques in the shape of flowers and leaves, all inlaid with iridescent bright blue, and darker blue-purple kingfisher feathers outlined with metal. The centres of the flowers are formed of circles of many wires with rounded ends, surrounding inset stones in blue, and green.

A black wood figure wearing a conical hat decorated with fluffy white feathers, one of which is at the top and the other two of which are at the front and the back. Figure has an oblong head with an elongated forehead, big ears, oval eyes, grooved eyebrows, a nose, and a mouth. Wearing a multi-layered silver ringlet necklace. A white and blue bead necklace goes around the neck, crosses at the chest, and the back, and around the waist. Similar beaded bracelet on each wrist and on each ankle. Holding a drum in between the legs with the figure's left hand on the side of the drum and figure's right hand on the drum top. On a circular wood base.

Three-dimensional male humanoid puppet (jester character): head (part b) fits into body clothed in a shirt and pants with floral print and multicoloured pom-poms and a short red skirt (part a). Bark garment, semi-circular in shape with a rounded indent along the bottom centre; bordered with a row of red alternating and black seeds along with a row of brown seeds. The central motif consists of two red star shapes outlined in black and cream seeds with a central green circle. In the middle of the garment is an orange circle outlined with rows of grey, red and brown seeds creating a sunburst design. In each upper corner is a collection of red and white and orange and white feathers. Along the outer edge is a fringe of grey and brown seeds with lengths of cane. The upper left edge has a top half of a bird beak hanging on a piece of the fringe. There is twisted fibre twine attached to either side.

Salmon with wolf centre mask. Mask is composed of a cut face of a wolf with two red pointed ears, cut out angled eyes, cut out nostrils, and slightly open cut out mouth with green hair painted around it. The animal face also forms the side-view of the body of a salmon with eyes painted grey, a red carved mouth and gill, and fins and tail painted with grey lines. Two surrounding curved wood sticks are attached to the mask along the sides with four pegs. Six black feathers are attached all around the mask through the two surrounding curved wood sticks and have a wood ornament attached at their ends, starting from the top, clock-wise: fish, fish, fish, fish, duck, and duck.

Mask with male face and eleven wood ornaments. Symbolizing water, heaven, and earth. The mask is painted with stylized black eyebrow, eyelashes, moustache, and goatee. The small eyes, nostrils, and slightly open mouth with teeth, are cut out. Two surrounding curved wood sticks are attached to the mask along the sides with four pegs. Eleven black feathers are attached all around the mask through the two surrounding curved wood sticks and have a wood ornament attached at their ends, starting from the top, clock-wise: fish, peg, hand, peg, fish, foot, foot, fish, peg with fluffy white feather, hand, and peg with fluffy white feather.

Headdress made from an elaborate vertical piece (part b) attached to a woven, hoop-shaped headband (part a). The lower half of the vertical piece consists of several tassels, pom-poms and a god's eye fashioned from blue, red, green and orange yarn; the upper portion consists of a plume of brown, black and white feathers. The headband is a light yellow-brown, woven from thin strips of palm leaf with a Greek key-like pattern encircling the sides.

Plains style headdress with black felt skullcap and bright blue headband. Downy yellow-green feathers glued onto bottoms of large light white bonnet feathers with dark brown tips, and having downy white feathers in the middle wrapped in red yarn at the bottom. Feathers attached to band with a shoelace. Front of bonnet beaded with three yellow centred triangles outlined with red, dark blue, orange, brown, and light blue on a white background. Two beaded circles are at either ends of the front beaded band. The beaded circles consist of a design of four arrows pointing toward the klight blue bead centre, starting from the top and going clock-wise: red, black, red, and black, on a white background and interconnected with a light blue circular line. Four rabbit fur strips, two dangling from each side.

The ball is covered with hide, then with beading which has two sections of mauve across from each and two sections of turquoise across from each other outlined with red. The shaft is cloth-covered with an orange patterned cloth and with strands of white, turquoise, and dark blue beads wrapped around it. Long black hair is attached at one end, and feather attached to other end.
