Fly Whisk1448/1

Long black coloured feathers gathered together at one end and secured to wooden handle with braided strand of fibre cording. Fibre is woven in and out of feathers at the base, is bound several times around the handle, and is secured with a knot. Braided fibre strand hangs down.

OrnamentEdz1132 a-j

Ten objects of the same size and shape; triangular pieces of gold foil with green sticks glued down the back, protruding out the bottom. A second, smaller triangular foil tier--coloured red, green, pink and gold--is raised off the surface of the first by three cylindrical spacers; a red pompom sits in the centre of the second tier. A single, slender strip of peacock feather arises from the back of each object.

The figure has a pink face and dark pink cheeks wearing an elaborate feather headdress with light netted fabric painted pink, black, white, and turquoise on four sticks with pink tips. Pink robe with rainbow coloured rim and belt with flap that has a face with a red nose. Turquoise pants and black and white shoes. Right hand holds a yellow stick with a white tip under which is a pink tip perpendicular to it. Other pieces include the left arm (part b), a piece of the flap with the face (part c), pieces of the dress (parts d-f), pieces of ornament (parts g,h), a white circular stand (part i), and a stick (part j).

Mask1060/81

A large wood mask with a flat base carved with a relatively flat circular face at the centre. The base is painted blue and has three cylindrical wood pegs pointing outward and equally spaced from each other along the top. Three surrounding curved wood sticks are attached to the mask along the sides. Nine white feathers are attached all around the mask through the three surrounding curved wood sticks. The face is painted white with two black semi-ovals for the hair line. Downward curving slits indicate the eyes, around which are painted black glasses. The nose is long and flat with one large hole for the nostrils and two black spots below. There is a upward curving slit for the open mouth. Black paint is used to outline the goatee. Bands of skin are at the sides of the face. A label at the top states "INDIAN DANCE MASK / YUKON 1910."

A gold-coloured figure (part a) in crawling position with a couch, clothing, and ornaments. The couch is covered with a red velvety fabric and has a pattern of silvery sequins in between a diamond-shaped mesh pattern with silvery diagonal lines and a gold-like rim. The couch has a base (part b), a back (part c), and two side pillows (parts d and e). Two ornaments (parts f and g) have a pink-red velvety fabric pentagon with a sequin in the middle and a lace rim which are attached to a silvery-gold lined stick. There are two robes; one is green (part h), and one is orange (part i). There are two fans; on is larger and is blue (part j), and one is smaller and is green (part k). There is a small silvery wand (part l). There are three hats; one is green with a fan on top (part m), one is orange with a pink tail (part n), and one is blue with a yellow tassle (part o). There is a bouquet of three pink flowers (part p). There is a headdress (part q). One flat piece (part r) has a curtailed fan-like shape with rows of beading in the centre outlined with gold sequins. There is a small silvery bracelet (part s) with two links. There is a beaded necklace-like ornament (part t).

Hair Pin838/2

Long decorative hair pin of a blue coloured dragonfly. Two oval-shaped wings are on either side of the long and narrow body. There is a flower design located just above the head. Two antennae protrude from the head and are attached to two pompoms. One pompom is pink and one is green. Just below the pompoms and extending back towards the end of the insect on either side are two flowers with long stems and closed petals. The hair pin extends from the base of the insects' body to a sharpened point.

Hair Pin838/1 a-b

Blue coloured metal hair decoration (part a) depicting an insect and long metal pin (part b). Part a is a grasshopper(?), has three protruding legs on either side of its narrow body, and has three flower petal designs below its legs on either side of the body and one in behind. There are two round red coloured stone(?) for eyes. Protruding from the tip of the face are two long wire antennae and just above are two shorter antenna attached to two pink, and white, red and green pompoms.

Hat made of thirty-one black feathers attached to string by folding the base of the quill and creating a loop for the string. The folded portion is wrapped with yellow and purple yarn. String of feathers fits over crown of hat (Ni32 a).

Mask with a long tuft of orange, grey, brown and off-white feathers attached to a stick and protruding from the top of the forehead. The mask is painted with heavy black eyebrows, a green design on the forehead, red around the slightly protruding eyes, a green line across the cheeks and bridge of the nose, red nostrils and thin lips, a black moustache and goatee, and a curved dotted green line extending from the side of the chin to the nose on both sides of the face.
