On the upper back is a circular white crest. Below the crest are two white origami cranes. Around the lower front and back is a border of thin white symbols. The inside has white cotton lining with large blue symbols.

Oval-shaped ink pot with a curved hollow handle. Ink pot has a hinged cover which gives access to the ink-pot and the penholder. A brown string is looped around in between the ink pot and the handle.

Long wooden knife that tapers to a sharp pointed end. A rice plant and a duck in flight are designs that have been carved on the shaft of the knife. A long silk tassel and netsuke are attached at the end. The tassel attaches to the knife through a hole at the end and wraps around the handle of the knife along with a piece of olive green silk fabric.
