Large round gourd, slightly conical at top, with concave area at base and side, has black and brown stained engraving covering most of surface and dried seeds inside that rattle. Facing towards and encircling a flower at the centre of the upper area, are numerous winged insects. The lower portion has been divided into four bordered areas, each with a depiction of village festivity, such as a bull fight and religious celebration, with musicians, dancing and food.
A double woven rattle with round bodies on bases of flat, circular gourd pieces. Inside the bodies are small stones. The bodies are joined together by a thin curved handle.
Musical instrument made with an oval piece of wood nailed onto the rounded half of a gourd. The wooden top has two curved side cutouts. Between the cutouts are 8 metal strips of various lengths, bent upwards and secured with wire.
Woven crocodile figure painted orange-brown with black spots. The head is low to the ground. There are cowrie shells attached as eyes. The thick tubular body is supported by four thin legs. The curving tail has triangular pointed scales. Attached to the back is a string for hanging.
Basketry female figure standing on two short legs with toes holds a small child in her left arm. Both have mask faces with cowrie shell eyes that are painted with red, black and gray pigment. The female has numerous grass braids hanging from the top rim of the mask, into which are attached carved cowrie shells.
Woven male figure with a bird on top of his head. The bird has a looped string on its back and is painted red and black. The man has a flat face with cowrie shell eyes, protruding nose and painted details in red and black. From the back of the head hang knotted pieces of string as hair. The body is round with one arm raised, stout legs and long toes.
Gourd container (parts a-b) with a bulbous base that tapers to a funnel shaped neck (part a). Part b is a semi-spherical shaped lid with a looped leather tie on top. The entire gourd is dark red with a shallow engraved design of various geometric patterns. The central line is painted green along with alternating lines along the bottom of the base. The inside of both pieces is hollow.
Spoon made from one half of a gourd with poker work designs applied to the inner surfaces. Several lines are burnt into the handle edges, the tip of the handle is blackened, and the edges of the bowl are blackened with a series of lines at the front centre of the bowl edge. A symmetrical design consisting of two v shapes and two crescent shapes joined by a darkened area decorates the inner bowl and an x shape ornaments the bowl where it tapers to a handle. The inner handle is decorated with two lines tha run lengthwise.
Very plain, round, yellow calabash fruit cut in two before drying to create a bowl (part a) with a lid (part b). Both rims are brown. From the rim, on one side of the bowl (part a), there is a triple incised downward pointing triangle. From the rim, on one side of the lid (part b), there are three upward pointing triangles.
Very plain instrument with several finger holes. Eight sections of bamboo of varying lengths are inserted into the gourd and tied around with rattan. One set of four bamboo sections are of relatively equal length, being shorter than the other set of four, of which, the two tallest ones are in the middle. The gourd has a hole.
