The gourd is painted green, red and purple in diamond, heart(?) and leaf shapes, edged with a zigzag etching. The band across the centre of the gourd reads, 'SOUVENIR DE BARRANQUILLA'. A hook is screwed into the end of the handle and a metal plug is in the top of the gourd.
