The item search helps you look through the thousands of items on the RRN and find exactly what you’re after. We’ve split the search into two parts, Results, and Search Filters. You’re in the results section right now. You can still perform “Quick searches” from the menu bar, but if you’re new to the RRN, click the Search tab above and use the exploratory search.

A single square of mosaic glass made from red, grey, black, and white glass canes that have been arranged to create a diamond shape.
Silver-coloured metal straight pin with a flat, circular finial. Small circles of coloured glass have been set within the finial. There are five pieces of red glass, six pieces of green glass, and two pieces of blue glass. There are five semi-circular protrusions around the finial with holes holding coloured glass. The hole at the top of the finial is empty. In the centre of the finial, five of the holes are slightly larger than the others and appear to form a cross shape. The surface of the finial, on both sides, has been incised with simple geometric patterns. The neck of the pin has been flattened, and a hole has been drilled into this flat protrusion.
Silver-coloured straight and cylindrical pin with a circular finial created with sixteen ray-like protrusions. The front of the finial contains a piece of cylindrical blue glass(?) that has been set in the centre. Each ray-like protrusion has an incised face composed of eyebrows, eyes, and a mouth. Elongated, abstracted bodies continue down from each face to connect with the blue glass in the middle. Small holes within the metal of the finial (in the shapes of circles, triangles, and larger circles) work to define the bodies of the small figures. The top of the pin, where the shaft meets the finial, contains a raised and incised representation of a plant or fruit. At the back of the finial, the top of the pin shaft has been flattened and shaped into a loop. Through this loop, a think metal wire has been attached and it has been formed into two loops. A long, tarnished metal chain has been attached to these loops on the back of the pin.
War bonnet or headdress made of a brown felt cap with a wide beaded band that sits at the forehead, with long eagle feathers attached above the band, completely surrounding and obscuring it. They are attached by skin loops and each is wrapped with red fabric, secured by sinew, on the lower portion of the shaft. Tufts of animal hair and burgundy fibres sit on small squares of leather, and are attached with adhesive to the feathers at the tips. The beadwork on the band has geometric designs in red, blue, green and gold on a white beaded background. Strands of red cotton and smaller feathers drape down from behind the headband. Overall colours are dark brown, white, red, green, blue and dark yellow.
Silver-coloured metal pin with disc-shaped finial. The pin tapers from a flat, wide head to a cylindrical, pointed end. The finial of the pin has scalloped edges and set glass pieces on either side. One side has been ornamented with a red, translucent glass circle that has been carved as a flower with six petals. The other side has been ornamented with a green, translucent glass circle, and an incised design of two leaf shapes edged with small circles and straight lines can be seen through the green glass. Incised, tight zigzag lines have been engraved around the set pieces of glass to resemble leaves, and this leaf pattern extends part way down the shaft of the pin.
A dark brown wooden staff with a metal tip and cap, fitted with two metal bands, and a metal figure of Jesus Christ attached to the shaft. The figure has short metal chains attached to his hands, which are tipped with ruby-like gems, or pieces of glass. A metal hook/clasp has also been added to the staff. It is hinged and shaped to rest flush against the cylindrical shaft. Hanging from this hook/clasp is a metal cross that has been inlayed with an emerald-coloured stone in the middle and ruby-coloured stones on the leaf shapes of the arms and base of the cross. The head, or top, of the staff is capped with metal and inset with a dark blue, oblong stone. The rim of the head has been decorated with a fringe of pentagonal, dart-shaped discs that are attached to the staff with small jump rings. The head of the staff has also been incised with three rows of illegible text.
Silver-coloured metal pin with a straight, tapering shaft. A semi-circular protrusion on one side at the neck contains a hole, through which a ribbon or chain could be threaded in order to prevent loss. The finial of the pin is oval-shaped with scalloped edges, and it is incised with a pattern of small circles and lines. Eleven small holes encircle the finial of the pin. There is a stone or piece of glass(?) set on either side of the pin's finial. On one side, there is a rectangular piece of green stone or glass. On the other side, there is an oval piece of dark blue stone or glass.
Silver-coloured straight pin with a tapering shaft. The pin has an oval finial that is narrower at the top than at the base. A piece of round, green, translucent stone or glass(?) has been set in the middle of the finial. There is an incised scallop design around the edge, with small incised circles between each scallop. A leaf shape comprised of small incised circles surrounds the green stone, and a series of dots and lines fills in the space between the leaf shape and the stone.
A straight pin made of a gold-coloured metal with a set glass piece or gem. The pin contains an oval-shaped finial created with twelve scallop shapes along the edge. The glass piece (or gem) is set in the finial. A zigzag pattern of incised lines radiates out from the finial centre to each of the scallop edges. These lines continue across the neck of the pin and part of the way down the shaft. This pattern can be found on both sides of the pin.
A gold coloured, metal straight pin with an oval-shaped finial holding a piece of blue glass. The finial has been created with seven scallop shapes around the outside. The neck of the shaft protrudes on one side, and this small protrusion contains a small, circular hole. A zigzag pattern of incised line radiates out from the finial centre to each of the scalloped edges, across the neck of the pin, and part way down the shaft. This same pattern has been applied to both sides of the pin.
