Bottle1060/56

A cylindrical reddish-brown skin bottle with three circular protrusions around the top, middle, and bottom which are decorated with bark weave in a diagonal line pattern. Each of the two spaces in between these three circular protrusions has a set of two horizontal black lines painted at each edge. The top of the bottle is semi-round with a triple black line semi-circle design and tapers to a neck which has strands of skin flowing down from the rim. The round lid which also has a bark weave in a diagonal line pattern is attached to the bottle side from the top of the lid.

Fertility Figure905/11

Made out of nuts in three parts covered with nine dangling strands of bone, possibly that of vertebrae, that have a conical bone at each end. The top is covered with strands of hide. There is a piece of hide underneath the bone strands, which are also decorated with a white, red, and white bead at the top and middle.

Vest1200/9

Small black wool vest with silver embroidery. The vest has a centre front opening with lower edges that curve upwards. There are dense swirling patterns made of silver metallic braid and thread that has been couched onto the surface of the ground fabric. Blue and green glass beads are incorporated into some of the patterns. All edges are bordered with flat silver braid. The centre opening and bottom edge have small spherical ornaments, made of wood or fibre and been wrapped with silver thread. The inner lining is black silky fabric.

Bull's Hood1330/10

Highly decorated hood for a bull, formed by joining two embroidered square panels along two of their adjacent edges and rounding off the point that is thus formed. The remaining two edges of the squares are left open, forming points at the bottom of the cover. Two ovoid openings, finished with binding, are located along the top edge. The two sides of the cover are heavily embroidered with square, circular and floral motifs, in red, orange, purple, green, and white, which are embellished with many round and tear-shaped mirrors on blue background. The embroidery is underlined with red-orange heavy cotton textile.

Belt1060/76

A coiled round beaded belt with four cylindrical rows stitched together. The design consists of alternating rectangles of blue, black, and red beads with white beads in between. It is beaded on the outside. One end has a loop of blue, red, and white beads with a conical metal button while the other end has just a conical metal button.

Bottle1060/58 a-b

Long and narrow bottle covered in red-brown leather (part a). Body of bottle has four distinct ridges that are decorated with light brown, dark brown, and red coloured woven leaf bands. Neck of bottle is decorated with brown fringe. Large leather label on body with inscription in bold letters says: "LEATHER ENCASED BOTTLE GAMBIA-AFRICA." Part b is the cork stopper to the bottle, has a decorative band of woven leaf fibres around the top and is attached to a long strip of leather.

Belt1260/1

Long and thick beaded belt band with five distinct rows of coloured beads. The outer band is light pink, the next row of bands are alternating sections of blue and red, and the central band is green. Each row is connected to the next by four white coloured beads that form an X shape. At each end of the belt are three rows of red coloured beads that are attached to brown fibre cording.

Milk Container1047/1 a-b

Tear-drop-shaped skin container with a narrow opening and a protruding looped handled. Container has three flaps of skin attached under the handle. Skin flaps are decorated with two rows of shells and have skin and shell tassels on the end of each flap. Part b is the lid to the container. It is cone-shaped, tapers near the centre and flares out at the top. It is decorated with rows of blue and white, and red beads around the perimeter radiating from the top of the lid. The outer edges of the flared top of the lid have two rows of blue and white beads on either side of a double row of red beads. At the base of the lid is a single row of alternating black and white beads.
