Box3099/22 a-b

Square stoneware box in the shape of a milk carton. The lid is decorated with images of mountains and impressions of flowers. A number "5" was pressed into the handle with letraset pieces. Brown and black bars are carved into two sides of the rim. Three lines are carved into the remaining side of the rim. Bands of water are painted onto the box with little brown rectangles. Faint impressions of cows grazing.

Box3099/21 a-b

Square stoneware box in the shape of a small milk carton. Black lines on the lid form a mountain relief and a single band of water. Faint impressions of chickens and a cow grazing, on one side. The words "sea" and "span" are pressed into either side of the box; one on brown glaze, the other on blue. A number "44" is pressed into the brown part of the "sea" side. One of the remaining sides has a crane next to a mountain. An "S" and the number "440" are pressed into the last side. Maker's mark stamped onto "span" side.

Basket Form Dish3099/20

Speckled basket-shaped stoneware container. Walls slant upwards from wide flat base to a rounded square opening with a thin folded handle. Handle and rim are grey speckled with green. Inside walls are blue speckled brown, and outside walls are various shades of brown over a grey background. Maker's mark on side near base.

Jar3099/19 a-b

Oval shaped pale green stoneware covered jar with flat base, straight rounded walls, and interior flange to hold lid. Lid is slightly raised at centre and has a flat arched handle with two small holes made to represent two tunnels. The colour is darker at the bottom of the jar and lid. Maker's marks stamped on side near base.

Black and brown footed cylindrical stoneware vase. Curved body starts wide before curving in and out at mid-section and flared rim. Decorated with four diamonds made from small bumps along the lower half of vase, and two notches carved into the wider mid-section. A loop is attached to either side of the rim. Small grey footed cylindrical stoneware vase. Curved body starts wide before curving in and out at mid-section and flared rim. Two horizontal lines at the base and mid-section circle the vase crossing four vertical lines. Four vertical dashes along the rim match the vertical lines. A loop is attached to either side of the rim. Maker's marks on back near base.

Vase3099/16

Large black and brown tenmoku stoneware vase. Long narrow neck with two pinches matched by small points at opposite edges of the round mouth. A wavy brown line circles under the rim. Body is wide and round at the shoulders before curving in and back out slightly at base. Small lugs sit on each shoulder. Five carved Xs decorate the base. Maker's marks on side of neck.

Large tenmoku stoneware handled dish. Dish is a rounded rectangle with feet formed by a slightly arched base. Large loops on either end form handles. Outside is black speckled with brown, and inside is grey speckled with red around three upper walls. Maker's mark stamped on side near base.

Blue-grey stoneware footed vase. Small round top with narrow round mouth tapers half way down body before opening up and widening at base. Four triangular feet with flat points are attached to base. Top of vase is decorated with two small wings below mouth, and a carved line connecting them. Body has a carved line right above base and four vertical lines spaced evenly around body. Maker's marks stamped on side near base.

Grey stoneware basket form dish. Flat bail handle is attached to wide round basket with flat base. Four notches are carved at equal distances around slightly over-hanging rim. Two points stick up from rim at opposite sides. Body decorated with four incised vertical lines and a shallow wavy band. Maker's mark stamped into side near base.
