Plaque3143/2

Bronze plaque of a buffalo (reverse image of 3143/3). Horned animal with head lowered, as if charging. Legs are bent, tail is curved at top corner. Some etching on legs and face to denote hair and features. Surface is mottled brown and green with traces of bright gilding in crevices. Back of piece is concave with three open metal loops attached near centre.

Ring3144/1

Cast gold ring. Large beaver face at centre, with a carved leg at each side of the face. Beaver's large teeth extend to lower rounded chin edge; the tops of its ears extend along the upper, flatter edge. There's a notch in the upper edge, above the centre of the face. Slightly stippled surface. Front of ring is quite wide; the band narrows substantially toward the back. (No visible artist inscription.)

Corroded and worn. a) Flat, thin and round body with a central protrusion surrounded by a repousse band of seven profile heads with two tassels. b) Flat, thin and round body with a central protrusion surrounded by a repousse band of five profile heads with two tassels. c) Flat, thin and round body with a central protrusion surrounded by a repousse band of six profile heads with two tassels. Slighlty cracked. d) Flat, thin and round body with a central protrusion surrounded by a repousse band of seven profile heads with two tassels. Feather impression in patina. e) Flat, thin and round body with a central protrusion surrounded by a repousse band of six profile heads with two tassels.

Bracelet3094/1

Gold bracelet with an oval design at the front-centre. The decoration shows a dove facing right, on a flowering branch inside an incised oval. Both long edges have a plain, linear border. The bracelet is wider at the centre, tapering toward each squared end where it has a single slotted hook clasp. The inside is plain, but has mottled marks over the surface due to the manufacture technique.

Qur'an3039/1 a-b

Book of the Qur’an, inscribed in naskh script inside the cover. The first few pages are highly coloured and decorative. Most other pages of script are bordered by a simple band of gold and blue, with most of the script in black and red ink. Chapter headers are painted with brightly coloured decorative bands. The cover has a flowered pattern painted(?) onto the outside; a flower patterned paper adhered to the inside covers. Pages are loosely bound with string, currently only attached in one place to the cover. (Part b is a soft fabric cover that is sewn in the shape of an envelope; in storage.)

Ring3023/3

Small gold ring has a thin narrow band soldered at mid back. The head is a thin, flat oval with an embossed image of a walking goat (?) looking back over its shoulder, surrounded by tall foliage. An engraved border encircles the edge of the oval.

Earrings3023/1 a-b

Small gold hoop earrings, somewhat mismatched, both slightly oblong in shape, one (part a) to the sides, the other (part b) in length. Hoop thickness is larger at the bottom, narrowing toward the top. The closure is a small loop that is fastened to one end, with the other end thinned and curved up and back into a hook that fits into the loop. Earrings are undecorated.
