Embroidery shows a human figure wearing a long blue robe with pants underneath, and a purple and green scarf at wrists and down legs. The figure also wears an elaborate headdress, and is barefoot. A peacock is behind the figure, with head to the left and tail feathers to the right. The two are surrounded by oval embroidered shapes on top and both sides. Couching in gold wrapped thread; embroidery in green, dark blue, light brown, brown, purple, light blue, gold and yellow.

Military rank badge. Square embroidered silk panel with both gold and silver couching. The central figure is a lion embroidered onto a separate piece of fabric and sewn onto the panel. The background is a sequence of semi-regular patterns with ocean motifs interspersed, such as sea creatures, a shell, plant life. A border edges the panel and has a repeating pattern. The panel is sewn to a plain blue silk backing piece. On the backing fabric, sewn to the lower right corner is a small paper with the inscription “Lion, Military official of the second rank.” Colours are blue, light blue, gold, black, green, orange, and a very pale light blue.

At top left, a group in masks and a dragon costume climb a stack of chairs. Nearby musicians and spectators watch and one points. In the lower left are drummers and gong players. The lower right shows a dragon dance. Intermingled are trees and foliage. The blue silk frame has pink designs in the weave. The panel is backed with bright pink cotton. Colours are dark green, blue, pink, white, orange, grey, brown and red.

The embroidery is a scene with a boy on a dragon and a girl on a phoenix, as well as flowers, plants, waves, and buildings. Colours used are white, gold, green, blue, light green, light blue, yellow and purple, with gold thread couching in some areas. On the rear bottom left corner is a printed inscription in Chinese characters, and a piece of tape(?) with printed Chinese characters.

A flowing pink and green scarf surrounds his shoulders and continues down his right side. He wears an elaborate headdress. Blue oval embroidered shapes surround him on top and both sides. Couching in gold wrapped thread; embroidery in blue, yellow, light blue, white, purple and green.

Embroidered appliques adhered to horizontally rectangular paper. The large centre applique is a crane standing on one leg, wings tucked close to body, amid foliage, branches and flowers. Some of the branches are partially sewn with gold metallic thread. Two smaller appliques sit to the bottom left and right of the larger one, on the left is a grass and rock motif and on the right is a branch and leaves design.

Civil rank badge. The silk badge vertically divides into two halves, with the embroidered image continuing across both pieces. Embroidery contains both silver and gold couching. The central figure is a standing bird, embroidered onto a separate piece of fabric that has been sewn onto the panel. The bird stands on one foot, with wings partly spread. The embroidered background, from bottom to top, has a two-tone regular pattern in gold, blue rectangles, an irregular pattern in gold, and small blue rectangles in a regular pattern interspersed with a variety of motifs. A border edges the panel in a repeating pattern of motifs. Colours are blue, dark blue, black, gold, green, and red.

Turquoise silk cloth with an overlaid purple centre panel and a looping gold filament border stitched on around the edge. The top surface of the runner-like cloth is covered with a decorative hand embroidery of mixed gold and copper filaments attached in a couching-technique known as stumping, with the resultant cross hatching of the ivory coloured thread covering the under surface. Cloth has long twined strands that hang out beneath metal fringe at both ends.
