Small, oval-shaped woven basket (a) with a fitted lid (b). Multicoloured bands of stripes and patterning around the basket in orange, green, yellow, red and dark blue. Centre of lid is an orange oval shape, encircled by an oval-shaped green band. Cedar flange is attached around the underside of the lid's rim to hold it in place.

Part (a) Coiled (with bifurcated stitches) cedar root basket with matching lid. Imbrication in repeating zig-zag tri-coloured bands of dark cherry bark, cat-tail grass ?, and red cherry bark, that start at rim and down to bottom. The lid, part (b) has same imbricated pattern radiating out from spiraled center that has cherry bark and cat-tail grass.

Rectangular coiled cedar root basket with a lid and two handles. Parallel slat base and wall and lid construction with overcast rims on both the basket and the lid. Overcast handles extend across the basket and are attached to sides with leather ties. Large imbricated designs in black and red cherry bark with canary grass in between are on both the basket and the lid. Designs are diamonds or zigzag motifs. Leather hinges attach the lid to the basket along one side, while thongs are present on the lid and adjacent area of thebasket on the opposite side.

Oval-shaped purse with arched handle and oval-shaped lid. Body of purse is made of five thick stem(?) coils. Coils are wrapped with thick strips of grass(?). Two of the coils are wrapped with alternating pieces of purple and natural grass(?). They are separated by two naturally coloured thick stem(?) coils. The lid is attached by a loop to one side of the handle and is composed of three thick coils with alternating pieces of purple and natural grass(?). The handle is composed of one thick coil with alternating pieces of purple and natural grass(?). The lid has a small loop to one side that latches on to a grass(?) piece that is attached to the body of the purse.

A small slightly flared upward cylindrical basket (part a) with a lid (part b). A horizontal row of blue and yellow triangles goes around the bottom of the basket (part a), above which there are three green birds, and three red birds in a row. The side of the basket tapers into an upright rim. The lid (part b) is rounded and has a blue sunburst-like centre at the top with two purple, two pink, and two blue birds around it, and a horizontal row of purple around the side.

Woven mat with multicoloured fringe. The natural coloured strands are plaited diagonally with the edges folded over and woven back into the mat. The are eight rows of multicoloured fringe sewn onto the lower half of the mat.

Basket1523/1 a-b

Large basket base (a) and lid (b) made from coiled stem woven together with natural and dyed grass. The base widens in diameter towards the curved shoulder where it then narrows slightly towards the rim, and it has a band of triangles in brown and black at the shoulder and base with a band of light brown rectangles between them. There are two handles at the shoulder. The lid is conical with a short cylindrical handle at the top centre and a lip that fits inside the rim of the base.
