Sphere-shaped basket with circular base and mouth with lid. Base has warps radiating from central point. Light yellow decoration on walls consist of two rows of geometric design forming framework that contains 4 flowers, one diamond shape and the letters "Ketchikan, Alaska". Rim folded over to outside and secured by row of twining. Lid is concave with knob and is decorated with two rows of alternating stitches in light yellow and brown, between two rows of light yellow geometric design. Knob is decorated with one row of light yellow stitching.

HatEd1.302 a-b

Hat (a) made of two layers of finely woven black horsehair with a slightly tapering cylindrical crown, and a broad circular brim. Woven on circles of thin strips of split bamboo at the top of the crown, the base of crown, and the outer brim. Chin straps are of black silk lace ribbon. The separate hat lining (b) is made of more coarsely woven black horsehair that has a seam at the top and has a cord across the centre back to gather and fit to the head.

Small circular basket with a square bottom. Base in a checker weave pattern divided into two panels by white-brown stitching. Walls are decorated with six bands; from the top: five rows of white-brown, three rows of dark brown, three rows of orange, four rows white-brown, two rows of red, one row of orange, and last band is dark brown.

Flared cylindrical basket with a circular base and a mouth yellow-brown base demarcated from the walls by raised row of alternating stitches in two yellow-brown and one brown. Sides are decorated with a wide band of light yellow, in two groupings, one of two rows and one of seven rows. Band of red-brown above with yellow-brown sideways v's top band is yellow-brown twining. Rim edge warps are folded and secured with two rows of raised twining.

Round, wrapped twined basket (a) with lid (b). Base is plain twining with small cedar rectangle at centre, row of twining in alternating purple and light yellow-brown demarcates base from wall. Walls decorated with one purple row at base, faded purple geometric zigzag design in middle of basket, two rows of purple separated by row of light yellow-brown at top edge. Rim is faded purple wrapped twining. Lid is round with knob and has cedar bark inner rim. Row of purple wrapped twining between inner rim and undersurface of lid. Decoration consists of concentric circles from knob, one row purple, one light yellow-brown, one row purple, eight purple geometric designs; one row purple, one light yellow-brown on outer edge, knob decorated with light red and light green, two rows light red around base. Inner rim has cedar bark woven through narrow cedar strips, finished with braiding.

Base is cedar bark checker work overlaid with grass; two wide cedar bark bands; grass faced wrapped twining band in the middle with designs in light red, orange, purple and green of canoe, whale, birds and geometric floral motifs.

Cedar bark and grass base in plain twining and central checker work. Geometric design around bulbous bottom and top; four dark blue birds between dark blue and purple bands and eight purple parallelograms on squared middle. Two purple birds between parallelograms on neck. Tightly fitting lid with purple sunburst design.

TrayNd575

Tray composed of coiled round dish with handle and flat rim. The tray has four pointed spout-like indents along the edge. The rim and handle edges are braided. The handle is made of two separate two-coil strands which are tied together along the middle of the handle. The base of the tray is coiled and has circular bands of imbrication in red and black cherry bark and dyed grass. The tray has one coil foot which is beaded with black cherry bark.

Canoe shaped coiled basket (bifurcated stitches) with single coil seat inside the canoe; has small prow with single coil loop extending from below prow to base of basket. The top rim is braided with grass. Imbricated pattern in three rows of three stitch intervals, alternating between red and black cherry bark.
