Basket1768/111 a-b

Round Nuu-chah-nulth basket with lid. Two bark bands overstitched around the top. Basket is woven with three coloured bands. Designs of two boats, one whale and one hat on basket. Bottom has woven square in centre, surrounded by three circles. Lid has small round handle at top.

Cantonese Opera Horn1704/4 a-b

Cantonese opera prop of a double-reed horn. Part a: Brass horn with a tapering ribbed wooden body--wooden body has seven segments, each with a finger hole. End of wooden body is attached to a tapering brass fitting with two spherical knobs centred on it. Part b: Small mouthpiece wound in copper wire--slides onto tapered brass fitting.

Switch Prop1704/2

Cantonese Opera prop. Stem switch is two pieces of stem bent in half and bound with a strip of stem material. A small piece of string also binds two of the stems at the bound handle. There is a loop of cotton fibre that has been knotted. The loose ends are split and frayed. One of the frayed ends has been completely severed from the bottom of the bound handle. Another has been partially severed from the bottom of the bound handle.

Basketry Canoe1719/20 a-d

Coiled cedar root basketry canoe (part a). One seat (part b) has been detached. There are two paddles which are painted black on one side of the blade with a white letter in the middle, one has an "S" (part c) and the other has an "M" (part d).

Small, rectangular basketry tray with handles at either end, which are connected to the wavy rim. The decoration on the side has a horizontal row of black with a horizontal row of red-brown below. The tray decoration consists of alternating rows of red-brown, light yellow-brown, and dark brown.
