Rectangular grass mat of fine regular weave. The mat has a large border around all sides in purple on a natural-coloured ground. The border has many bands ranging in thickness and motifs. The outer band has a geometric motif. The middle band has a floral motif. The band closest to the centre has a pair of elephants on one end and horses on the other, all facing inwards. The centre is without design. Long weaving threads are tied off at one end.

Watch-spring coiled lid; one leather tie on outer edge of lid with geometric and representational designs over basket body; net of diamond shapes with animal figures inside. Lid has floral pattern radiating from centre.

Square-bottomed basket with rounded corners and flaring sides. Bottom checker work and warp in cedar; undyed areas of body, bottom and inner fixed weft are sedge fibre. Dyed areas are grass. Bands of various colours with rectangular motif in middle. Interior shows original colours, including turquoise, yellow, brown and black.
