A long rectangular cedar plank with faded Northwest Coast designs imprinted in the surface of the wood; segments of black and red designs are visible over the entire surface. Several longitudinal cracks both ends. Small holes in the surface. Cedar bark stitching at both ends. Chisel marks, longitudinal cracks and black patch-like accretions on the plank's underside.

Child's Flat FanN3.43

Flat fan made of finely-split bamboo flaring out from its attachment point to a long wooden handle painted black. Perimeter of fan is circular except for the lower edge where the handle is attached, which is straight and at right angles to handle. Fan is covered with lacquered paper with a design of three swirls converging at the centre, coloured red, green, and yellow. It has a narrow edging of black paper around the outside edge. The fan is inserted into a split in the handle, which is flat and shaped like a pointed oval where it covers the fan, which is attached with two rivets. The shape of the handle is repeated with an outline of orange paint on the fan.

Mask with protruding cylindrical eyes that are moveable. The mask is painted with heavy black eyebrows, red nostrils and lips, a black moustache, and the cheeks are emphasized with red painted designs. The remainder of the face is painted white. Cedar bark fringe extends down back past the bottom of the mask.

Two rectangular notches are horizontally carved to one side of the plank near on side of the centre of the plank and have cedar bark stitching. Two rectangular notches are vertically carved on the bottom and the top end of the plank near the other edge of the plank.
