Basket1545/3 a-b

A small slightly flared upward cylindrical basket (part a) with a lid (part b). A horizontal row of blue and yellow triangles goes around the bottom of the basket (part a), above which there are three green birds, and three red birds in a row. The side of the basket tapers into an upright rim. The lid (part b) is rounded and has a blue sunburst-like centre at the top with two purple, two pink, and two blue birds around it, and a horizontal row of purple around the side.

Christening Mat1523/2

Woven mat with multicoloured fringe. The natural coloured strands are plaited diagonally with the edges folded over and woven back into the mat. The are eight rows of multicoloured fringe sewn onto the lower half of the mat.

Basket1523/1 a-b

Large basket base (a) and lid (b) made from coiled stem woven together with natural and dyed grass. The base widens in diameter towards the curved shoulder where it then narrows slightly towards the rim, and it has a band of triangles in brown and black at the shoulder and base with a band of light brown rectangles between them. There are two handles at the shoulder. The lid is conical with a short cylindrical handle at the top centre and a lip that fits inside the rim of the base.
