Rectangular panel apron with beads on one side, a top edge that has been folded over a grass(?) form and a bottom edge that has a beaded fringe in the middle of two smaller panels. Blue, black, and orange beads make up the design near the top, whereas purple, blue, black, white, and green beads create geometric patterns on the rest of the apron.
Two vertical sticks encased in orange wax at the top. Each stick has a shorter stick attached at its base with paper at a forty-five degree angle. On both sticks the orange wax also has three coloured marks on it--yellow, white and green--and a large white wick emerging from the top.
The tapa cloth is natural in colour with designs painted in reddish-brown and gray. There are eight squares all together; two rows of four. The squares are defined by thick brown lines outlined with gray. All the squares have a diagonal line in the centre. The rest of the square is filled with snake-like lines and small coloured-in shapes. All the lines and shapes are brown and outlined in gray then surrounded by a dotted gray line. The cloth is painted on one side only.
Flat, circular shaped basketry mat. Four arrow-point designs equidistant with smaller points between. Natural colour with brown and dark brown designs.
Northwest Coast basketry sample. Flat, oval shape. Six diamond design patterns along the outside edges at end and along sides. Natural colour with brown and dark brown designs. End is unfinished.
Light brown, cylindrical-shaped basket (part a) with Tall, straight sides and a long protruding handle made of four strips of bamboo. Lid (part b) is a ring, hexagonal at base and circular at basket rim. It is inset into the basket. Bottom of basket flares out slightly and has a thick band of woven strips around the perimeter.
The purse has a woven light brown and pink basket-like base that widens at the top and tapers near the base. The base is slightly raised and has a coiled pedestal rim. The top of the basket-like base is attached to woven fabric that comes together at the top by an orange and yellow drawstring. The fabric portion of the purse is cream coloured, is decorated with three sections that have alternating yellow diamond and double-lined patterns. Each section is separated by a reddish-orange line that is outlined by a reddish-orange and blue checked line.
Very long wovan mat, with braided long edges, painted with mainly geometric and linear designs, all in yellow, white, green, red, and black. Centre band of diamond shapes runs lengthwise through mat, and is bordered by a band of zigzags. These divide the mat into upper and lower halves. At each end the motifs are the same in upper and lower, concentric diamonds within a square, within elaborate square borders. Next panel on upper half is a two-storey building, branches and leaves in background. Lower half has rectangular band like that in centre, and is bordered by same design in different colouring, mostly yellow, green and white with red outline. At centre of mat on upper half is yellow panel of a vase with leaves and flowers in background, outlined in white. This panel is flanked by panel of white 'X' outlined in red, on a yellow background in a square also oulinted in red and white. Elaborate square borders surround. Lower half has panel similar to those at ends, concentric diamonds on a green background within a square and surrounded by elaborate square borders. Patterns repeat after centre panels. Reverse side is plain except for inscription in red paint that is difficult to decipher.
Brown coloured tube-like container (part a) with braided rope wrapped around one end, braided rope and woven grass(?) wrapped around the centre, and a woven lid (part b) attached to the other end. Attached to two rattan(?) loops are braided rattan links that create a shoulder strap.
Glass wine bottle enclosed within a light brown basketry covering. Divided into three strata by two rings of short vertical strands, the woven covering features red and aubergine coloured images of birds, serpent-like figures, whales and whalers in canoes. A red woven cap tops the bottle.
