Basket1126/1

A light brown round woven basket with a lid which fits over top and is attached with a looped piece of root or bark. The main design is made in dark brown with a diamond-shaped pattern connected with a horizontal line across the top and the bottom. Inside each diamond are six dark brown horizontal triangles, three of which point downward and three of which point upward toward the centre leaving a light brown diamond shape in the middle. Outside each diamond are six more dark horizontal triangles, three of which point upward toward the top horizontal line and three of which point downward toward the bottom horizontal line. The lid is decorated with a dark brown rim and the top of the lid is decorated with vertical dark brown lines.

Head Ring1119/3

Round headring with four braided cedar bark tiers and a bundled layer on top, all are dyed red. Lined with red wool inside. One small animal skin with white fur attached to the front and another attached to the back of the head ring. There is a rectangular shaped piece of abalone attached to the front.

Basket1060/49 a-b

Circular basket with rounded sides and watch-spring bottom, constructed of grass in bundle coiled technique. Decoration consists of a series of double-delineated diamond shapes, evenly spaced around the sides, made by beaded strips of brown plant fibre (all around the inner diamond line), possibly reptile(?) skin on the lower half of the outer diamond line, and an unidentified black material on the upper half of the outer diamond line. The fitted lid is slightly domed, with a knob, and is decorated with six cross designs, beaded in brown and black.

Cylindrical hollow gong with slit for about 1/2 the length centred lengthwise; carved designs at either end. Top end has dragon ? face centred on slit; opposite side from dragon there is a small hole drilled through wood; other end has flower designs carved into same side of gong as face.

Lion Dance Mask807/2

Large mask with bright blue hair, bright pink face, large semi-circular cut-out eyes, large black painted eye brows, bulbous nose, small cut-out mouth with painted red lips and white teeth. A small bamboo rod is attached with metal wire to the inside of mask near the nose.

Rectangular coiled cedar root tray with parallel wood slat base and walls. Entwined loopwork rim that attaches to overcast handles at each of the ends. Occassional red and black cherry bark imbricated elements on both exterior and interior surfaces.

A light brown umbrella which has a pink fabric emboidered with a few small flowers. The top and the rim are dark brown. There is a string attached to tie the umbrella into a closed position. The handle is carved at the bottom end tip with a design of circles.

Rectangular, coiled basket with tall, outward sloping sides. Exterior of sides are decorated with central pinwheel designs; long sides have double diamond designs to either side of the central design. Rim has open work of overlapping, single coil arches; coil below open work is decorated with alternating black, red, and beige sections. Long sides each have two loops of bark through then near upper corners.
