Male doll wearing brown wool pants with gold and green panels at back, a heavy dark blue wool sweater, a rectangular multicoloured textile in shades of red and green at the shoulders, and a light coloured bandana tied around his neck. His hat fits close to the head, with the brim flipped up in front to show a zigzag ribbon decoration and small pompoms. At crown is a tuft of metallic thread atop further ribbon and flat pompom decorations. Long decorative flaps trail down his back to the waist, brightly embroidered with figures, diamond shapes, and sequins stars, on a light cream background. A wide leather belt or pouch decorated with studs is buckled around the waist. He holds a wooden drumstick in his right hand. His shoes are small wood and leather sandals. His face is painted, showing large brown eyes, rosy cheeks, a red mouth and a dark moustache.

Female doll wearing a heavy dark blue wool dress with long sleeves, covered by a blanket in dark brown with wide stripes of orange and grey at bottom and a green edging. Around her shoulders is a rectangular multicoloured textile in shades of red and yellow, as well as a white cotton cloth. Her hat is wide brimmed and oblong, decorated with ribbon, foil, sequins, and yarn flowers. Long ribbons trail down her back from her hair. Her shoes are small wood and leather sandals. Her face is painted, showing large brown eyes, rosy cheeks, and a small red mouth.

Doll wearing an amautik parka, carrying a child. Female doll has eyes embroidered in black thread and mouth in red, with a slightly protruding nose. Hair of wool is sewn onto the head with ends braided in ponytails. Amautik parka is made from canvas, with embroidered decoration along hem and wrists, and a blue and red belt tied at waist. A light cotton robe with decoration similar to the parka is slung through the belt at back. Doll wears a pink and white gingham skirt over a lace underskirt. Boots are leather, topped with a felt cuff and fur trim. The knit figure of an infant (part b) wrapped in a pink and blue blanket, its facial features embroidered in black thread, rides in a hood pouch attached to the mother’s parka at the neck.

Doll with fur trimmed tunic. Large female doll has a leather face with protruding nose; eyes, brows and mouth are embroidered in black thread. A deep hood lined with long animal fur can be lifted to completely cover the head and face. This is sewn to the tunic which is made of a flowered fabric and edged around hem and wrists with fur. A wide knit belt in red and orange with tasseled ends is fastened around the doll’s waist. Legs are made of stuffed blue felt with tall leather-soled boots on the feet. Inuktitut syllabics are stitched around the the cuff of the right boot.
