Mask with a hooked nose, pronounced orange mouth and round eyes below an overhanging brow. Split-U details in large flaring ears. Black horse hair is attached to the head. Grey with black and white details, red nostrils and gold around the eyes, between the eyes and along the top of the ears. Unpainted on the top with several nails and attached cords.
Single, tan-coloured moccasin with a band of embroidery in red and green horsehair on the top.
Necklace made of eight pieces of bone carved in the shape of claws and strung on black and brown horsehair.
The red-brown wood shaft (part a) is decorated with red and black stiff hair, either goat hair dyed red or mithune (wild buffalo), as well as long red-brown hair. There are metal deltoid-shaped points at both ends, one of which is loose (part b).
Long carved violin with the monkey skin attached on the top by pegging. Strings are attached to the head by tying them to twine protruding pegs and are then tied around the end of the body.
Standing male figure with a long red beard, dressed in elaborate armour suit; all in gold, except for a red cap. Belt and shoes have t'ao-t'ieh motifs. Gold, red and black base. Unmarked.
Braided animal hobble (hank’ay). The natural fibre braided loop is created from 16 pieces of yarn in brown, beige, and black, possibly from coarse llama(?) and horsehair(?) with a spiraling diagonal stripe design. A red and beige bobble with a beige horsehair(?) tassel is attached to the ends of the braid..
Fly whisk. The handle is a short and relatively straight stick covered with woven back and yellow fibre, held together by orange stitching. At upper end is a long, thick hank of white horse hair, attached by a tightly woven panel fibre. Hair thins toward end of whisk.
Masenqo or single-stringed bowed lute (part a) with bow (part b). The lute has a diamond-shaped resonator is made of four small wooden boards glued together, then covered with stretched rawhide, which is stitched together. The single string is made of horse hair, and passes through a wooden bridge. The hair is knotted to a large tuning peg. The bow (part b) is composed of a U-shaped piece of wood that has plaited plant fibre strung between holes at the ends of the wood, and then tied.
Fly whisk, consisting of a tooth handle and long strands of white horse hair. Handle has an angled end, and two rings of silver-coloured metal along its length. Top of handle flares out into a semi-circle, with a long wooden rod protruding from the top. Metal wire wrapped around base of rod, with a looped tie, for hanging purposes. Rod is covered in grey and dark brown fibre, woven into design of alternating diagonal lines. Horse hair extends from the sides, front and top of the rod. Hair curves downward naturally, thinning out towards end of whisk.
