Pair of boy’s leather sandals (part a-b). The sandals have full backs and a red tongue piece attached by leather thongs to the sides. The toe strap is knotted on the underside and threaded back through the tongue piece. The sandals are have black rubber tire soles and are held together with metal nails.

Sharpening File1779/29

Half-round milled tooth file, with grooves on both the round and the flat side. The handle narrows to a square tip, and has a maker's mark stamped into it; 'NICHOLSON U.S.A.' 'Made in U.S.A. SUPERIOR STANDARD'. Near the maker's mark is a hand-written five point star of blue ink.

Bent Knife1779/14

Double-sided curved knife with long wooden handle. The blade is attached to the handle by a cord that is wrapped around handle. The end of the handle has been shaved down and angled at the bottom into a wedge. There is a mark, 'GD' carved into the back of the handle and also drawn in blue ink on the bottom front of the handle.

Double-edge curved blade set in groove in long, plain wooden handle. Handle is wrapped with brown-black twine at top. Horizontal cut at top of handle close to blade. Front of handle carved at bottom to form wedge. Maker's mark of back of handle in blue ink, 'GD'.

Silk, rectangular shaped textile sample with a different floral pattern outlined in black at either end. One floral pattern is rounded flowers, leaves and grass. The other floral pattern is pointed flowers with matching leaves. Japanese symbols are printed in a faded box off to one side between the floral patterns.
