Knife, Composite2846

Scraping or shaving tool, iron blade.* Fide donor GTE: An implement used as a planer or scraper, the iron blade is driven through a section of rib bone. This tool was dug up on the bank of the Fraser three miles above Lytton. 11/14/1989, BAB: This scraper is actually missing from the collection. A knife has been mistakenly given this number. That knife is really Emmons' 2847. See Accession 870 for additional information. NOTE- 4/5/1993 the knife was renumbered its correct number 2847. As of 4/5/1993, scraper 2846 is still missing (R. Andrews). Ah-hah!! A knife with number 2847 was found in archaeology (but matches the description for 2846) and so it is assumed that this is the correct knife. The number was changed from 2847 to 2846. R. Andrews. 4/19/1993. *Information is from the original accession ledger.
