Ivory initials attached to a carved stick by a fibre cord and copper wire. Both items are carved. Stick is hollow in the centre and is carved in a spiral. One end of the stick is made into a fist. Inscription on the stick reads: "1901 St. Helena." Inscription on the ivory seal reads: "O.V.S."

The other side has one scholar with his arms folded turning away from the other who appears to be entreating (?) to him. There is a stopper (part b) made of green jade stone. The wood stand (part c) has the shape of an oval, and has four legs.

A closing fan with twenty-five inner ribs of ivory, interconnected with a white ribbon, each having abstract designs cut-out with Chinese symbols? The two parent ribs have a floral design cut-out. There is a metal loop with rivets and a white cord tassel.
