A flat hairpin made of gold-coloured metal tapering to an irregular point. A raised flower, and an engraved stem decorate the pin. Above the flower the pin widens into three discs, one above the other, each edged with a circle of tiny raised flowers. A small insect or flower shape is on the border between the discs. The top and the bottom discs are inset with flat green stones while the middle disc is inset with a rounded red-orange stone. The uppermost green stone is incised with a curvilinear pattern. Chinese characters stamped on the back which is flat.
Blue paper fan folds at each bamboo rib; thirty-three ribs edged in red; first and fifth ribs have calligraphy; silver outer rim on fan; painted silver and gold outline of Mount Fuji's peak; black string with green jade bead tied through base.
A closing fan with twenty-three inner ribs of split bamboo each with a butterfly(?) design burned on the base of each side and two parent ribs of bamboo each with a burned design. Each parent rib is set into a dark rosewood piece through which the brass rivet passes. Fan has light brown paper on one side only, on which a dinner menu in French is printed for June 10, 1929. Attached to the rivet, there is a knotted white silk cord, 17.5 cm. long, on which is strung an orange glass bead (red jade?). At each end of this, there is a knotted flat tassel of braided white cotton bound with gold coloured metallic thread.
A spoon that has a long handle finial of green jade. The metal part of the handle is twisted, and the bowl has a Maori-like figure in relief. Hallmarks include "L&S", an anchor, a lion, an "X", and a "6".
Head with vertical feather-like headdress that comes over each side of the face. Oval eyes closed, small mouth, and triangular nose with upraised brows. Dull dark green. Hole made at top middle of headdress.

A small snuff bottle (part a) that has a blue high relief design consisting of a dragon in flight amongst clouds on one side, and a phoenix amongst clouds on the other side. There is a stopper (part b) that is made of green jade (?) outlined with white.
