Dark brown bow that is straight in the centre and has sides that curve down then upwards in a U-shape. Ends have a small incised groove near the end of the tapered point. Fibre(?) cording wrapped around each end near the centre. Traces of gold paint and lacquer over the wood.
Rectangular shape box with canted corners. Decorated with flowers bamboo, and a human figure in mother of pearl, on black ground. Bail handles at each end. The interior is red.
Folding paper hand fan with bamboo ribs. Leaf is silver speckled on white on one side, and gold speckled on other side. Bamboo leaves and branches are painted in gold on the exterior of the ribs. Small insect in red and white on each rib.
Short, square copper box with rounded corners and a flat lid. Exterior of box is black, with golden calligraphy covering the lid and repeating golden designs of prunus and butterflies encircling the sides. Nine characters in a circle are stamped onto the bottom of the box.
A small thin rectangular metal box (part a) covered with red lacquer. Lid (part b) has carved dragon in flight. The sides of box (part a) have travellers in a boat and scholars in the garden. All in high relief in red lacquer.
A dark red-brown lacquered glass snuff bottle that has a flattened arch-like shape (part a). The main design is consisting of an elaborate high relief landscape, and garden scene with human figures at leisure. There is a stopper (part b) that is made of silver.
Dark brown rectangular wooden tinderbox with a flint bag, brass tray. metal tool, and two fringed, woven black bags attached to it via a braided blue cord affixed to the lid (part a). Part b is a small red-orange rock. Part c is a thin wooden pipe with a brass mouthpiece and bowl attached at opposite ends.
A short, wakizashi style sword with a wooden handle and sheath. Handle features black silk cords tied decoratively (tsuka-ito ) over a grey sharkskin covering and a pair of menuki (sword fittings), one on each side of the handle. Sheath has inlaid horn on a black ground. The guard has a prunus design.
Hide quiver with two arrows (parts b-c) and attached basketry container. The top end of quiver is black and gold skin and the bottom half is of black and grey fur.
Knife (a) with sheath (b) in which a small blade (c) is inserted. Knife has a curved blade etched (?) on one side with series of irregular, dark, patch-like shapes. The blade passes through a silver-coloured steel (?) sheath, with the tang (two-holed) inserted into the wooden handle, passing through a gold lacquered wooden guard. Each side of the handle is inlaid with an ivory plaque carved with a dragon figure; lotus carved ivory at end . Sheath (b) of wood with gold lacquer bamboo leaf design, inlaid with insects and plants of ivory, mother-of-pearl, and stones, with ivory end; wood badly split, inlays crudely repaired. Small blade, curved, is missing handle; stained red.
