Elongated, black lacquered wooden box lined with silk and paper. The inside of the lid is painted with a polychrome image of a bird, flowers, and a rock. Top of the lid is painted with golden flowers and birds. The bottom half of the box is fitted with a cut-out to accommodate a fan.

Three red lacquer shallow, footed, sake cups known as sakazuki (盃), each with an image in gold, metallic brown, and black. Part a is the largest and has an image of a man riding on top of a cart of barrels being pulled by a bull; part b is slightly smaller with an image of a person with their hand on a goat's head, superimposed on rice straws with objects below them; part c is the smallest cup with an image of two figures holding a gold Japanese character, sun (寸) and another figure on a ladder that leads up to a large gold Japanese character, kotobuki (寿). The two large cups have a signature, 美信画 (Yoshinobu-ga; picture by Yoshinobu).

Silk folding fan with imagery of birds and flowering branches embroidered on both sides. The fan's handle and ribs are made from black lacquered wood painted with golden floral designs.

Bottom is made from dark green and black lacquered wood and sides are open weave bamboo. Circular shape.

Containers are shaped like goblets (two sizes); all are stored in a wooden case, which has a red-brown opaque finish; drawer of case contains unfinished wooden objects - one hollow cylinder, one pestle-shaped object and two domed, circular forms; colours are red, brown.

It sits on a flat, wooden, red fabric-covered base (part f). One trunk (part g) is rectangular and has a lid (part h). It sits on a red fabric-covered wooden base (part i). Two square trunks are on a board together (part j).

Tea chest (part a) has gold circular design on dark wood with metal bound edge, and a drawer (part h) and two covers (parts b and c). Nickel-covered tea kettle (part d) has two sub-parts (parts e and f) and a lid (part g) with a floral design.
