Ornament with four components: a) bronze hemisphere with a curled projection at the top; b) a bronze dolphin on a post that passes through a hole at the edge of a disc with projecting tabs around the edge of slightly more than half of the disc; c) losenge-shaped lead weight with an indented line near one pointed end; d) losenge-shaped lead weight, slightly smaller.

Ceremonial Panel1559/2

Rectangular embroidered and appliquéd textile panel, decorated with mirrors and edged with closely-spaced cowrie shells on three sides; the top edge is has a fibre loop attachment at the left corner. The design in the centre of the panel consists of two square motifs, embellished with rows of mirrors on a red and dark yellow background. A border design of embroidered and appliquéd bands and mirrors surrounds the central motifs. There are three 'tassels' made of clusters of bell-shaped pompoms of fine cotton thread and suspended from twisted fibre cords, evenly spaced on the 'bottom' edge; the tassels are trimmed with cowrie shells and metal beads.

PipeB113

Pipe made from a section of bamboo with a mouthpiece made from a skinnier segment of bamboo protruding at an angle and a curved protrusion at the closed end of the pipe. The mouthpiece is decorated with incised bands and diagonal lines, and the shaft is decorated with incised bands of spiral and oval decoration as well as a band of scroll and leaf-like motifs inside triangular shapes at the closed end of the shaft. The lines of the design have been stained (?) black with red paint used to emphasize the design. Several plain black bands and lead bands on the shaft divide the bands of design.

Brown wood narrow blade in a reverse elongated arch shape with a thin, cylindrical shaft and a t-shaped handle. Geometric and scroll designs emphasized with white pigment along the handle consist of swirls within a diagonal petal-like shape at each corner surrounded by horizontal lines. At the base of the t-shaped handle, there are two carved bulbous areas, the one at the base having plain horizontal grooves while the one after a plain section in between has various designs. The blade has a vertical ridge along the middle of both sides and is inlaid with many lead, four-pointed stars.

Prayer WheelEe4.42

Silver, cylindrical mani khorlo (prayer wheel). The silver wheel is covered in repoussage metalwork, with two bands of Sanskrit text inscribed in Lantsa script conveying iterations of **||Om mani padme hum|, the sacred six-syllable mantra for Avalokitesvara. The same mantra is printed on thin paper and rolled around the cylinder’s core spindle, where it is hidden from view; a bud-shaped finial with a flat, circular base is featured on the top, while a metal chain with a polyhedron finial is attached to the side. Cylinder is mounted on dark brown wooden handle capped with metal, about which it turns.

Barrel-shaped copper object covered in repousse devotional prayer in Tibetan script; object is capped with red paint and a pointed finial, and has a short metal tube attached at the bottom. A length of copper wire tied to a small piece of lead it attached to the side.

Rectangular, embroidered, and appliquéd textile panel, decorated with square mirrors. Panel edged with closely-spaced cowrie shells on three sides; the top edge has three black fibre ties, evenly space along the edge. Bottom edge has three ‘tassels’ made of clusters of cowrie shells and metal beads (cylindrical and bell-shaped). Six large square mirrors and several small square mirrors, worked on a bright pink and orange background, and in the centre of the panel, are surrounded by a border of small square mirrors. The panel is lined with red and tan resist-dyed textile.
