Light coloured skins are stretched around a circular-shaped twig frame, which are fitted over each end of the central wood piece, secured with another bent twig and bound with green plastic twine and leather fastenings that zigzag between the two. On one end is depicted a priest, an elaborately costumed dance figure and an official, on the other, a red spotted wolf and a yellow jaguar stand beside a rounded harp-like object.

There are long loops of fabric attached to the tops of the boots at the centre front. A red stamp with Chinese characters is inside of each boot, near the top.

The sides of the boots are decorated with large images of birds facing downwards, the birds and their details outlined in silver, and the images filled in with cream coloured sequins.
