Finger Guard730/1

Four wooden finger guards held together with a leather thong threaded through small holes. Each finger has a claw-like area with a hole in which a finger can be put with top side decorated with six incised circle decorations. Extending from hole of claw area on each finger is a flat area that curves in opposite direction of the claws and is decorated on the same face with five circular decorations. There is a small, semi-circular notch out of the end of each flat area.

Bottle1060/58 a-b

Long and narrow bottle covered in red-brown leather (part a). Body of bottle has four distinct ridges that are decorated with light brown, dark brown, and red coloured woven leaf bands. Neck of bottle is decorated with brown fringe. Large leather label on body with inscription in bold letters says: "LEATHER ENCASED BOTTLE GAMBIA-AFRICA." Part b is the cork stopper to the bottle, has a decorative band of woven leaf fibres around the top and is attached to a long strip of leather.

Brown leather bag with a circular base, tasseled drawstring closure, and four outside pouches ringing the bottom. Decorative square and diamond shapes are woven onto the outside with darker strips of leather.

Bells704/67 a-b

Three bells attached to leather piece (part a). There are sixteen holes in the leather. Bells are round, have a small metal ring on the top, an X-shaped incision on the bottom, and a raised mid-section decorated with diagonal slashes. Strip of red cotton is tied through two of the holes near the edge of the leather piece. Part b is a detached bell from part a.

Boots2663/65 a-b

High boots with slit at upper back. Leg portion is of thick black wool with blue braid at back and blue bias cotton cloth at top. Soles are of thick light brown leather closely stitched with two rows of angled stitches and regularly-shaped small stitches. Upper sole edged in blue-green leather, above which is piping and then seven rows of close stitches in various colours. Band of red wool around foot, with triangular of chain stitch embroidery over toes. Band of green wool fabric above this, with alternating orange and white circles embroidered at front and rectangle of blue, green and red fabric with embroidery around heel, with appliqué red and blue triangle above. Long embroidered red and blue triangle at front of shin.

Knife1431/6 a-d

Part a is the metal knife with wooden handle. The blade has a slight curve and is engraved on both sides with a design of lines and dots that end halfway down the blade. The handle curves outwards and has five carves lines that circle around the midway point of the handle Part b is the leather sheath or knife covering that has a yellow stitched seam down the centre. It is slightly curved and tapers to a point. A smaller sheath is attached to the outside and inserted are two smaller daggers with brown handles (parts c and d). The edge of the smaller case is embroidered with red fibre.

A tall circular brown bark container decorated with dyed quills. The design consists of two flowers with green stems and leaves. One flower is red outlined with purple, and the other flower is purple outlined with red. Both flowers have a brown dot in the centre surrounded by a red five-pointed middle with two brown lines emanating from in between each point. The top and the bottom of the container are overlapped with a strip of bark that has a curved semi-circle pattern facing the centre. The bottom and the top of the container, as well as the sides of the lid, are rimmed with bark strips that are perpendicular to the rim lines. There are strips of soft hide attached to the sides of the container and the lid.

The knife (part a) has a short round-curved blade with a sun-like design on the top corner next to the handle, and the number "1942" inscribed on one side. The sheath (part b) is made of skin stitched with fibre along the edges of the rim. One side of the sheath has a hatch work design along the sides with three sun-like circles in the middle.
