Knife1338/1 a-b

The knife (part a) has a short round-curved blade with a sun-like design on the top corner next to the handle, and the number "1942" inscribed on one side. The sheath (part b) is made of skin stitched with fibre along the edges of the rim. One side of the sheath has a hatch work design along the sides with three sun-like circles in the middle.

Large wolf with leather tongue; snout protrudes from face at a 135 degree angle; ears are like horns from top of head. Mouth has pointed white teeth on top and bottom jaws, and a forked red tongue sticking out; nostrils are hollowed out; holes at eyes and mouth. Eyes are slanted upward toward the outside of face; eyeballs carved in relief; eyelashes painted on surface of face.

Black leather shoes (parts e-f) with a tall, wide heel and a squared toe. The bottoms have a horizontally incised, jagged rubber front sole and a flat back sole that is nailed to the heel. The inside is lined with green fabric and brown leather. There are blue pen markings on the inside heel.

Stock of bamboo with eight holes along body, one at each end and six in the middle; one hole at end is larger than the rest. Decorative rectangular gold-coloured plate curves around half of stock near largest hole and is attached by two pieces of leather. Thin plastic cord is wrapped around stock in three sections, two around gold plate, and one around end.
