Rectangular box with lid that can be locked; there are bail-type handles on both ends; black characters are on inside bottom and underside of lid. Label on bottom says made in Japan; label on top of lid says 45; tag on one handle has two characters and 45.

White-yellow rectangular strip of fabric. A cardboard label is attached to one end by a fibre cord that is looped through a metal grommet. One side of the label has a handwritten inscription that reads "Hachimuki," and on the other side, there is a large number "2" printed in bold in the centre and Japanese characters underneath.

Set of four hair pin-like objects made from ivory. Parts a and b each have a small, roughly rectangular ivory piece with black characters on it near the top of the pick set at a right angle to the shaft; part b is also capped by a circular ivory piece. Parts c and d each have a small pink shell affixed near the top of the pick and black calligraphy on the shaft.
