Wooden figure of a cat. Animal is in a laying position, with front feet stretching out, back feet bent at sides, tail held out behind, all separate pieces of wood attached with small metal nails. Head is held high on a thick neck and angled slightly to the side with ears perked. Features are painted on a red base, black spots placed evenly along the neck, torso and tail, with smaller on the face. Eyes are wide and yellow. Black nose, whiskers and mouth have been painted as well.
Cuff-style silver bracelet. Design features a bear in centre and densely carved Northwest Coast elements covering entire outside surface. The bracelet is wide in centre and top edge tapered towards the rounded ends. Artist’s inscription, date and title inside.
Wide silver bracelet with hinge clasp. Deeply carved sea bear (Tschumos) design, with wide grin, flaring nostrils, and showing its broad row of teeth and protruding tongue. The back section is engraved deeply with clawed feet and cross-hatching in between. Artist’s inscription on back: HAIDA ART / Reid.
Large metal dagger formed from a single piece of steel, narrowing at one end to form the handgrip. Grip area is overlaid with copper sheeting on both sides. The finial of the dagger portrays the head of a wolf, with rounded snout and eyes, and U-shaped ears and nostrils. Abalone shell inlay is used for eyes and the four ovoid shapes of the copper overlay. The handle is wrapped with a hide strip. The long end of the strip has a loop for being held over a wrist or thumb.
Pipe bowl in the shape of a raven lying on its back. Small three-dimensionally carved faces are at both sides of the beak. The pipe bowl, in the bird's stomach, has a copper insert. The stem hole is at the feet.
Squash blossom necklace. Double strand of silver beads carries small squash blossom emblems made of thin metal, 10 to a side, each with a circle of bright blue or green turquoise at centre. At bottom hangs an openwork inverted silver crescent decorated with three similar circles of turquoise. Hook clasp at back.
Silver bracelet with turquoise stone. Small cuff is oval in shape, open at back, and increases in width toward the centre. Design is openwork at front, where an arrow shaft with head and fletching is incorporated and lays horizontally across the piece. A gammadion cross is set on top, and carries a small oval turquoise stone at centre. Along arms on both sides are etchings of Navajo design, including a stylized bird and arrow.
Silver bracelet with Shark Mother (k'aad aaw) imagery. Design covers entire outer surface except for a thin border at top and bottom. Double hook-slot closure at back.
Gold pendant, or brooch, in shape of a killer whale in profile, tail curved downward. The pendant is slightly convex. A hanging element at dorsal fin back. A long vertical clasp pin at back centre. Artist inscription on back PJanze (using combined JP).
Large owl mask with moveable jaw and eyes. Eye holes are carved out, sides of nose have semi-circular red shapes, and the mouth is painted red. Black design on mask depicts feathers with red details. On reverse are cotton and cedar(?) bark ties controlling the movements of the jaw. A hide tongue is tied to hide strips through the eyes. Three hide strips are nailed to the sides; two other nails protrude at top edge. (Metal wire for hanging on back.)
