Silver paddle-shaped button hook. Engraved designs on both sides, including a bird's head on the flat blade. The birds' eye varies slightly on each side, one small and one large. 'Sitka' is engraved near the hook end on one side.

Purse3660/50

Small red, rectangular cotton twill purse, decorated with clear beads. The back has a very heavily beaded perched bird design, with the leaf or blossom pattern continuing onto the front flap. The purse handle is made from a single strand of beads attached at both sides; the edges are all covered with spirals of beads and three triple loop strands of beads hang from the bottom. The purse flap closes with a metal hook into a thread loop. The inside is lined with blue fabric.

Beaded South Africa flag ornament. Beadwork consists of a horizontal Y-shape (pall) in green, with yellow and white borders, separating sections of red (top) and blue (bottom) and a black hoist triangle. The beadwork hangs vertically from a large safety pin, which is attached to a small rectangular paper booklet labelled 'SOUTH AFRICA'. The inside has lyrics to "THE CALL OF SOUTH AFRICA" AND "NKOSI SIKELEL' iAFRIKA", and the back has a prayer printed on it titled "GOD BLESS AFRICA". It notes "HANDMADE IN SOUTH AFRICA".

Picture Frame3660/35

Heart-shaped picture frame made from dark green felted wool (?) and red fabric over paper boards. The two layers of fabric-covered board are whip stitched together along the edge with two white beads included with each stitch creating a white border. The front has some floral beadwork in small opaque or translucent beads. In the two rounded sections at the top of the heart are mirrored floral designs that feature a yellow and white flower alongside a pink and white flower, with a red bud and green leaves and stem. At the bottom of the heart is a fully-opened flower with each petal a different colour: red, yellow, green, orange, blue and pink. Accompanying each floral design are short lines of translucent yellow beads, two white beads, one larger yellow bead, and a silver sequin. The circular cutout window is bordered by stitching with translucent yellow beads. Hanging from the bottom of the heart is a beaded string, looped eight times, white with multicolour sections at each loop's lowest point. Twisted, colourful beaded strands are attached at the top for hanging. There is a pocket on the back.

Model Totem Pole3679/1

Model pole carved of whale bone; eagle at the top, perched on a human, crouching on a spirit figure. Eagle's wings are folded at sides, with its chest pushed outward. Human has large eyes, wide nose, and open slit mouth; tongue is sticking out. Elbows are bent, resting on knees, and hands are curled forward. The spirit figure has wide eyes, hooked nose, and claws. Eyes, relief designs, and background areas have been coloured black (ink or paint?). Pole attached to rounded base with metal screws; scallop pattern around bottom edge of base. Back of pole is smooth and slightly concave; artist name, place, and date made inscribed on back.

Tall cone-shaped female doll with plaited plant fibre wrapped around the neck, arms and body. She wears a black and red skirt with white and some red and purple beadwork along the hem as well as some multi-coloured beadwork. A flat metal hoop wraps around the waist, and a piece of skin with fur is wrapped over the back and breasts. She has hair of fine twisted plant fibre, and the face has beaded features. The body is filled with stuffing.

Fabric doll representing a married woman. Body and dress made of various black and coloured fabrics. The cape has teal and golden yellow wave ribbon with looped beaded decoration all over the back of cape; front covered in beadwork panel, plus a beaded panel apron; skirt has a loop of beadwork around the sides and back with a fringe; five rows of larger beads wrap around midsection of body. Disc-like beaded headdress on top on a metal frame; eyes, nose and mouth beaded; beaded earrings and four rows of necklace against neck, plus one larger round band. Doll stands on two rectangular wooden feet that are nailed on. The body is filled with stuffing.
