Fragmented base of a hand maul, missing proximal end and part of the base has chipped off. Abrasion, weather worn. Slight orange mottling on the proximal end
Flake tool with retouch and usewear. Unifacial retouch present on ventral surface of both lateral edges. Right side shows multiple flake removals along a 19.21 mm length of the proximal edge. Left side shows a few flake removals along a 21.15 mm length of the proximal edge. Usewear present on distal portions of both lateral edges and along the distal edge (20.15 mm). Flake has a cortical platform and feather termination. Opaque and dull, banded light and dark grey with red staining on dorsal surface.
A large secondary flake, it's thicker at the distal end before taper and thinning off at the proximal end. The belonging is a light grey with a beige tinge and has some light grey, smooth cortex present along the thicker end of the base. Some dark brown tiny spots along the proximal ventral surface. The presence of a striking platform with compression ripples, and some flake scars are present along the distal end of the dorsal surface. A bulb of percussion is also visible on the ventral surface.
Primary Reduction Flake, oval in shape. Opaque light grey with brown spotting on the ventral and dorsal surface. Cortex present.
