Spear2642/10

Spear with a pointed metal cap point. There is woven fibre wrapped around the spear near the tip, above which there are carved designs, including a depiction of a face. The recessed areas of the design have been caked with an off-white pigment, possibly lime. There is a single fibre string tied near the bottom of the spear.

Coiled basket with bifurcated stitches; parallel splint base construction; overcast rim; partial imbrication. The design from bottom to top: alternating vertical checkerboard stripes and diamond meshes (five checkerboard diamonds); double row of diamonds staggered (honeycomb); animal figures; vertical stripes along rim; dark and light quill on rim. Wire splint. Colours: red, tan.

Bag made of moose skin with a beaded and embroidered x-design in pink thread on a black band of fabric below a band of orange-brown fabric at the mouth. The reverse is without the black band, beading and embroidery. There is a skin fringe on the sides and bottom with a loop at the top for a button.

Club with a disc-like black stone head held mounted a band of woven plant fibre (?) or bark (?) near the top of the cylindrical wooden shaft that tapers to a pointed finial at the base. A second band of woven plant fibre (?) or bark (?) fits around the handle below the other, and a third woven band of the same material with grey feathers attached caps the top of the handle.
