The item search helps you look through the thousands of items on the RRN and find exactly what you’re after. We’ve split the search into two parts, Results, and Search Filters. You’re in the results section right now. You can still perform “Quick searches” from the menu bar, but if you’re new to the RRN, click the Search tab above and use the exploratory search.

Gift of Mrs. Ferdinand C. Smith and Mr. L. Hawley Hoffman.
Slightly oval bronze cap, or finial, with inlaid silver design. The open end is oval shaped; the closed end is rounded at the edges and smooth. There is a raised band about one third of the way up from the open end. Almost the entire outer surface, starting 0.4 cm from the edge, is decorated with feathery scrolls and griffins surrounded by scrollwork. The bronze is covered in a dark green patination, except for a few spots that are dark brown. Just above the raised band is a pierced hole, and spaced above the hole are two round dents.
Carving knife with a short steel blade, round metal neck piece and wooden handle. Knife looks as if it may have originally been manufactured/store bought, then modified by hand to fit better. The handle, neck and lower part of blade have red paint remnants and/or splatters. The blade shows major sharpening marks.
Wool poncho. Woven garment consists of two separate but identical pieces sewn together at midpoint (shoulders) where it is folded in half, and has a hole at centre through which fits the wearer's head. Weave is tight and un-patterned, with decoration consisting of a series of horizontal lines of varying widths in orange, green, dark purple and other colours, with several patterned lines incorporated. A short fringe in the same colours stands out from the edges. At bottom front is a large brass-coloured kilt pin.
