Gray damask silk skirt with no waistband. The skirt has pleated and embroidered panels edged with black trim. The lower sections have butterfly and floral motifs in gold, white and blue on gray ground. Around the sides and bottom hem are thick black borders with floral motifs in white and blue. The damask is woven with geometric and floral motifs. The inside is unlined.
Purple damask silk hood with embroidery. The hood has four long silk ties, purple netting, tin reflectors and green tassels attached to the lower front edges. The blue border around the lower edges has butterfly and floral motifs in white, green and purple. The cream border above the facial opening has mirrors and peacock, crane, butterfly, pine, floral motifs. The embroidery overall has the civil rank motifs (crane, golden pheasant, peacock, wild goose, silver pheasant, egret, mandarin duck, quail, paradise flycatcher), mountain, wave, coral, swastika and floral motifs. The inside lining is red silk.
Rattan ? fan covered in small beads and edged with blue and yellow silk fabric. The fan has a semi-circular body with a curved indentation at the back to form a rectangular shaped stem that attaches to a long cylindrical shaped, wooden handle. The handle is painted red and green. The centre of the fan has a multi-coloured bead plant motif in with dark green, orange, yellow, navy and pink on a white background. Around the outer edge are dark green, white and red stripes. The back of the fan is covered in dark pink, cotton cloth. The back has a small rectangular adhesive tag that reads ‘Made in India’.
Red wool cover with embroidery. The cover is rectangular with scalloped upper covers. The embroidery in the centre is an abstract motif in white, blue, green and outlined in gold. The back is lined with blue cotton.
Textile with a batik pattern and a dark brown fringe at both ends. The centre of the textile has a geometric pattern on purple ground and this is surrounded by a dark brown floral pattern with parallel lines at the ends, all on an orange ground. The long edges are finished with handmade gold thread edging.
Multicoloured skirt with embroidery, hanging panels and tassels. Across the top is a wide green waistband with two red ties and phoenix, dragon and cloud motifs. Below the waistband are hanging panels. The centre front panel has a pink peony on black and cream grounds. The centre back panel has a dragon motif on pink ground. The smaller panels are thin and rectangular with one end flared and pointed. On the front are embroidered different motifs on different coloured grounds. Each hanging panel has two tassels. The tassels are decorated with beads and bells. The back is lined with fuchsia silk.
Green damask silk pants. The pants have a wide natural cotton waistband, centre gusset and wide straight pant legs. The bottom of the legs have a border with endless knot, coin, fan, castanet, scroll and floral motifs embroidered in gold on blue ground, edged with pink bands. The damask is woven with a floral motif. The inner lining is natural-coloured linen.
Kidney shaped purse with two sets of maroon twine attached at the opening acting as a drawstring. Also attached at the opening is teal twine with metal knots connected to four, silk thread tassels; two light purple and two light brown. The purse has an embroidered body with a floral and geometric motif in light purple and dark blue on a blue background. Pictured in the centre are two red, orange and cream bats with a gold coloured Ji symbol behind. The top has a small rectangular opening made of black silk fabric pleated together to make a fan-like shape. Both sides are identical.
Silk fabric ornament consisting of a hexagonal shaped top with two yellow, dark orange, light orange and green striped fruit with a green leaf on a dark orange background. Connected at the bottom is a triangular shaped, large moth with a dark brown body, white wings, detailed with red, yellow and green dots. Hanging from either side are silk thread tassels; two purple and one light green. The ornament is outlined in light green and white triangular shaped fabric. Both sides are identical.
Short red jacket with embroidery. The jacket has a standing collar, long tapered sleeves and centre opening with frog closures and a metal clasp. Around the neck is a black scalloped border with butterfly, bat, chrysanthemum, bamboo and fruit motifs, edged with white floral trim. On the front and back are peony, butterfly, bat, bamboo, phoenix and prunus motifs on red ground. The bottom hem is edged with green. The sleeves have striped bands in black, blue, purple, cream and green. Embroidered on the front of the bands are butterfly, spider, dragon fly, bat and cricket motifs. On the back of the bands are peaches, pomegranate, ‘Buddha’s hand’ and berry motifs. The inside is lined with green silk.
